Hello everyone!
It's Monday morning but I don't have to work... Great!
Just waiting for some of the covid-response volunteering to come through.

In the meantime, the bint who killed my last Merc has raised a claim for bodily injury - WTF???

Yeah i had that over 20 years ago on a cold winters evening , Guy on a moped leaving his workplace pulled out in front of me and his moped stalled in the middle of a dual carriage way , after breaking as hard as i could we connected a less than 5mph impact , causing him to fall off, we called an ambulance and police etc etc , and police were happy as the fault was self evident and the guy admitted what happened, 3 years later i got a letter from his insurers citing me for negligence to attend a court hearing , panicked i contacted my insurers of the time as i was no longer with them , and they assurred me they were trying it on , and not to worry , explaining that they were going to apply for £150,000 damages , and that they would try and apportion 10 or even 15% of the blame on to me...................ie i could of braked harder and faster etc then they could atleast expect to achieve up to £20K ......................needless to say it came to nothing ..........................but still worrying when you get that first letter

Weirdly round my way the farmers shoot the rooks and then hang them on the field gates....bit like moles. Might be some kind of local witchcraft s--t! But it works.

You sure they're not just using the gates to hang it for a few days before eating? It's a potentially malodorous decision as the weather warms up. I've not tried rook, but scabby rotting rook certainly wouldn't get my vote over a nice Tesco's Finest beef pie.

Rower machine is here and built; I've even had a 5 minute session (at least till lunch arrived). Lovely smooth action and a darn good workout. This will help the evening slumber!

Regarding Rooks; I have had Some corvid meat (no not the virus but the corvid family of birds), it is a fairly strong earthy flavour, a little closer to pigeon than pheasant if you like. I wouldn't hang it though; just not a fan of making it more gamey!

The hanging on the fence is to scare off the remaining birds. If you ever see a corvid in distress, the others locally will muster to find out what is going on, it seems they are all very intelligent and social birds but likewise they will turn on one of their own in an instant if there is something the collective don't like about them!

Which rower did you get?

Viavito Rokai Multi-function Folding Rowing Machine

Here

Was in stock, they dispatched next day on Friday and not at all a bad price. Has lots of alternative exercise uses too... Even got Jeanette to use it earlier!

Good morning everyone, WFH, just getting on and doing stuff, catching up on the boring stuff and getting it out of the way. It's boring but the feeling of getting it out of the way is great.
When the world returns to normal, I won't have as much load on.

Morning.

So when it’s all over and we can go out again, what’s the first thing we are all doing?

For me it’s a weekend of car shows, booze and mucking about with the lads?

Thoughts with Boris this morning.

Oh dear. It sounds like some of the more tedious corners of here or the entirety of Pistonheeds. Well done on the rower, good job. Mine was going up for sale. It isn't now (although Mrs Crud would rather get a cross-trainer).

Morning, all. Another long die of calls lies ahead. Still, I'm enormously grateful to be busy.

I’m sure there’s a market for it over in China.
