That is sad, Matt. I didn't think spares could be sold from cars involved in a fatal accident. All permanently scrapped, never to be seen again. Is that not the case?

Indeed that’s why I wouldn’t buy any of the spares. Saying that, the lady who I bought my Opel GT from in 1994 sold it on behalf of her husband who died. 28 years old, lung cancer, never smoked....paint sprayer! He was spraying 2 pack in his workshop without the correct ventilation/extraction.

Morning, back to work. Winter works on the Strad is now complete...time to play.

Cat-B vehicles in the UK HAVE to be scrapped and no part of the shell/chassis/frame (structure) can be used, the destruction of such has to be 'evidenced'. I bought a CAT-B partner for some bits for the Frankenvan and used the Copart U-pull-IT facility up near York. They were so fussy about none of the bodywork going, we ended up putting parts stripped bare back on the pile, I wanted to bring the tailgate back as we ran out of time to strip it but they absolutely refused.

Also Alex's bike after his accident was oddly categorised as Cat-A by the insurance assessor meaning that NO PART AT ALL could be used and the machine was drained of fluids and crushed completely by the insurers. I din't think a Cat-A existed but I'm assured by my daughter it does and is strictly controlled. It does make sense as why else would you start with a B?

All makes sense, but <> fatal accident, if you get my point.

A fatal accident doesn't automatically get a Cat-B though.

Rolled = Cat-B
Flooded = Cat-B
Rescue extraction where the safety cell is compromised = Cat-B

I'm not suggesting they shouldn't be automatically Cat-B if a fatal accident.

Morning all, getting the GS out in a bit as I’m taking the groom & groomsmen to the wedding today. This should have been a momentous day for the UK but our useless MP’s have cocked that up royally.

Have fun all...

Morning all.

Not a good start to the day, the Jag appears to have a completely flat battery.
Which is annoying as I bought a brand new one on Tuesday.
RAC called, will see what they say. It was fine yesterday, how it's died over night I don't know.
I can on guess that it has a parasitic drain somewhere.

Well that was embarrassing, the battery lead came off. Nothing more taxing. Should have checked myself.
Oh well, at least Im getting my monies worth from the RAC this month!
