Thread drift, and obviously I don’t have the details of your friend’s situ, but this reminds me about something I hear a lot. The righteous indignation and feeling of being insulted that a dealer didn’t phone someone back. There seems to be a game played (by some) where the sales staff are supposed to jump to the beat like the person buying is an exalted member of royalty. I see it as the male equivalent of being a bridezilla. I hear a lot of it in passing conversation/on PH, just generally unreasonable, arrogant behaviour.
Yes it’s likely to be an expensive purchase, but it’s still a purchase. Imagine if every purchase played out like some people go on at dealers. ‘My Waitrose shopping trolley was parked at the wrong angle, and the security guard didn’t give me a neck massage on the way in’
If you want something, pick up the phone. Or visit.
