No, after all your prep - I struggle to ride my bike round the park with the children so I can't help but I do hope someone can step in at the las minute yet again.

Get well soon Drew

I seriously doubt I could make it past the end of the drive on a bike, so that rues me out I'm afraid. Get well soon Drew.

Sorry drew, hope they knit quickly.
Hopefully someone will come forward Matt......even if I was nearer it would not happen, I smoke, drink and do not believe in exercise so think after a couple of hundred yards I'd be in the van with Benny needing oxygen.

Are you sure? I think I would rather collapse by the roadside and wait for some French nurse to come and help me ;)

Whilst I appreciate I'm no hunk, some hairy arm-pitted, garlic scented french bint wouldn't be on my wish list of attendees, but whatever flops your mop.......

Deary me! What's up with Drew and his ribs? Cracked them once and that wasn't enough so he had a second go? Is he trying to be Prince or what? :D

Get well soon mate!

Ok guys, I have decided to abandon the search for a substitute cyclist so Benny and I go onwards.

I will start cancelling the 3rd rooms.

Before I do, does anyone want to offer to come down next weekend (3/4th October) for moral support?

We will be in the Riberec/Bergerac region.

Ryanair have a flight for £30 each way....or MAF, do you fancy a run out in the Ghibli???

Back online...

First of all, sorry for being so clumsy and letting Matt down for his ride. After stepping up to replace Urby a couple of weeks ago, I've put in enough time to ensure I was fit enough to complete the trip (back to doing 60 miles in 3 hours), and to have all that effort blown that away by a last minute accident is gutting.

I tried to persuade Matt to postpone the ride, but he's having none of it. The weather forecast is close to perfect, all the plans are in place, and he's insisting on going...

Many thanks from a cloud of Diclofenac for all the best wishes, although I don't understand the Prince reference?

From the BCRT:

Hi Matthew,

I just wanted to send over a quick email to say good luck for the upcoming ride. Over 1000 miles is no easy feat ,everyone at BCRT wishes you the best of luck. I would also like to thank you for your outstanding fundraising effort so far. With such a tough challenge I am sure you will surpass your £20,000 target, making it possibly one of the best individual fundraising events we have ever had a BCRT.

Please do not hesitate to contact me if you have any questions. Please also let me know if there is anything we can do to support you in your fundraising efforts. It would be fantastic if you could take plenty of photos so we can celebrate your success through our social media and website.

Thank you once again for being simply awesome!

Kindest regards,

Callum

Sorry only just saw the message. Normally I would be up for it but my wife just gave birth to a baby girl last night!!

So will have to decline. I wish you the best of luck though. In the end it is more the mental strength rather than stamina.
