Would anyone use a QPV as a daily these days? Asking for a friend.....

C
Yes :) I have little more than a passing interest in resale values of my QPV, largely because I have no (planned) intention of selling her - and with 80k on the clock any benefit of keeping her stationary is vastly outweighed by pleasure and satisfaction driving her on the roads... in manual, sports mode on, windows down. I'm fortunate to be able to WFH most of the time, and although my journeys tend to be fairly short it'd be unusual for our QP to be driven less than 3 times a week.

She is spoilt, fussy and loves having money thrown at her - I'm not far off from spending @MarkMas's figure of £5k this year with SportsItalia (front upper bushes, rear discs/pads and OSF window regulator are the main areas of spend), and that excludes cosmetic extras which weren't strictly necessary (front seat refurb, new front grille, OEM CF paddles). Is the QPV a cheap, daily driver Mazzer? Based on my experience, I'd say no. Her looks however (in my opinion) defy her age and mileage, and I intend to keep her that way whilst I enjoy the cross-plane crank orchestra... bring on 100k miles.

Mine is a semi-daily, shared with 2 alfas, but 1 has gone now so it may get used a bit more now.
Gets used every week, done 14000miles in 3 years, but 2 of those were covid times, so quite a lot of time unable to use it much, so would have been more, maybe 18-20k miles.
I don’t think any Maserati is a cheap daily, but the QPV will be as cheap as any I would say.

Advantage of the QP in general, and especially the sport GTS, is you are not losing anything on depreciation really, so it’s just running costs.

I also use my qp as a daily driver. Unfortunately most of my journeys are short so not sure how good it is but surely better than not moving!

I have only had it almost 2 years so I will let you know what running costs look like soon.

Depreciation/PCP payments are usually the highest running costs so buy with low/no depreciation and even Maserati running costs can be ok! Just don't buy one that needs £10k to straighten it out.....

There aren’t any….unicorns have vanished. And trade figures look positively ****. But hey ho our minister for brexit opportunities has now moved on from asking Sun readers to send him any…

The point, I think, Phil is that it’s getting old. It isn’t changing, relitigating it over and over contaminates otherwise useful discussions.
Bit like saying let’s amputate a leg and then try and find some positives or at least make some up and stoically deny reality and facts. If something is not working you analyse the root cause and remediate. Anyway probably straying off course from the forum context.

True apathy and disinterest is why we are in such a mess

You know absolutely nothing about Zep. Probably the least apathetic and disinterested person I know. Second only, probably, to Newton in terms of his work ethic. If anything, spouting un-informed opinion while believing it as fact is a far more likely reason for any mess that we may (or may not) be in

Including, it seems that he is a Forum Moderator, who is evidently trying to moderate this potentially toxic thread digression in the most mild and pleasant way possible. Without success, apparently.
To be fair you stoked the fire ;)
