i would rather pay that little extra and get a mint car im not worrying about than a cheep one that could potentially cost me 10's of thousands

on the state of the QP i was looking at getting, im a little ****** off! i had a call from the chap yes2day that i couldnt answer as i was driving , i had tryed to call him twice that day allready but got no reply so left a message to call me so i could sort out an indi inspection. spoke to him this morning and hes pulled the car from sale due to someone else interested and hes accepted an offer and taken a deposit.
baring in mind ive spoken to this chap every day getting as much info and making it very plain that i am very interested in the car pending inspection reports. he stopped me putting the deposit down untill monday as i could inspect the car at the same time. making sure i was completely happy with the motor before getting the indi done!.

im fed up with c0cks who mess me around especially with a such specialized motors and although im not buying new and spending 70+ grand i am spending a lot of money and want to make sure im not being taken for a ride if you pardon the punt, .
so ive decided
Dicky balls in your court mate im happy to wait for you to find me the perfect car im not going to even bother looking at anything else now. between dealers lieing to me and being ducked around like this ive had enough.

Thing is Dave, if someone comes along with readies for the amount he wants then I suppose he will sell............Unless you asking for an inspection has put him off in which case move on to the next one.

To be honest , you cant blame the dealer/seller , why would anyone selling a car hang about for the chances of a ( potential sale) when they have the oppurtunity of a definate sale , its simple in my book , who ever comes up first with the a definate yes and the money then thats who the car gets sold to , no prizes or loyalty points in tha car and house selling game in my experience ................its all about getting ones dosh back

It's annoying when that happens, too busy, can't see you til.....sorry, it's sold! Happened to me with a Bianco Fuji Gransport last year, I was gutted but at least the guy was apologetic and stated facts. When someone offers a deposit even with conditions attached, take it, simple. If you're not happy with the conditions then there's a reason to withdraw it from sale or sell to someone else. Reading between the lines, I don't think you've missed out on a good car, you never know, but it just doesn't seem right.
I am now on the case, I hope I don't disappoint in my quest.

When I found my 335D the salesman accepted a refundable deposit to secure the car whilst I drove down to Oxford. After I had agreed to buy it, he told me that he had had three offers to buy it including a definite yes, unseen. He merely told the interested parties that I was on my way to view and if I dropped out they would be given first refusal in turn. That way everyone was happy because they knew where they stood. As a result, I would certainly buy from him again.

A second hand QP still *is* a lot of money - as much as I paid on my first property - so you are right to tread cautiously.

Which is why I bought from Richard. He knows the cars I looked at privately, and one in particular I came close to buying, but at the end of the day I much preferred dealing with Richard because you know exactly where you stand with him.

So you probably feel hacked off at the moment but I think it will be for the best. Okay Richard, get your skates on :)

Maybe it was for the best.
Surely any decent dealer would accept a deposit before inspection, with refund if inspection reveals items that are genuinely unacceptable.

Hang in there ! Your perfect QP is out there somewhere and the wait will be worth it.

Dave CT,
It sounds like this guy might have winced at the indie inspection and either told you a lie, or has actually sold it to someone else. Seems strange he was too busy to see you, but still managed to sell it to someone else?? I think you should think you are lucky not to have bought this one. I had similar circumstances whilst looking for my latest car, loads of liers and cars that are dogs out there. Let Dicky look around and do all the hassle work for you, he is good at it and the car he presents will be worthy.
Cheers
