QP Spare wheel - solved

It won't quite sit flat in the boot when fully inflated, but I'm certain that when deflated it won't be a problem, and the boot floor will go back over it.

Great information - thanks.

I suspect it will fit with the boot liner removed. It won't really matter if the folding floor closes over it, you'll never see it's missing. The liner removes very quickly via those screws you can see in your pics.

Well done Drew! I really do not like driving with only a can of foam in the boot. My 4200 had a spare wheel and I'm delighted that there's one for the QP. Especially as I'm taking the family over to France twice this year in the car.

I'm going to bid on the eBay one. Please update the thread when you find the correct bolts.

:D

That's exactly why I wanted the spare wheel. I've run Range Rovers on LPG with no spare wheel, but tyres for them are easy to find even on long, remote European trips. Not quite so immediately available perhaps in rural France for a QP.

Bolts are ordered, will report when I've checked they are correct.

Thanks Michael - that's a very good idea. I'll have a look this weekend.

BTW, there are a few Mitsubishi cars with the same wheel - for instance, the 3000GT is identical, so that widens the net a tad. I particularly liked the idea of it being a nice light alloy, rather than a nasty pressed steel affair.

Well, I won the auction for the Mitsubishi wheel that Drew kindly linked to on here. I got it for £40 plus £27.95 p&p (!).
:)

Beat me to it. Darn. Let's not bid against each other.

Michael. I tried these people in case I didn't win the auction: 247spares.co.uk . I got two replies for the Mitsubishi wheel. Both were described as used one for £79 delivered and one for 96.

Why don't you stick in a request and see what crops up?

TBH, £68 to solve what I see as a serious problem isn't too bad. I'll let him ship it safely to me and then let him have it on the feedback.

:)

Thanks for the tip - will do.

I saw you won the auction. Good price too I think.

Please tell us if it fits and you solve the bolt question.

I have some bolts to test tonight - I believe they are the correct seat profile for the wheel, and thread length. Will let everyone know when I've actually found time to check them.

Well I've got the ebay wheel and offered it up to the car. Just as Drew says it looks just the job. Thanks again Drew!
