QP Spare wheel - solved

I didn't get the opportunity to try out my spare as I sold my car in June. Paul @ McGraths did say that he wasn't entirely happy with the bolts. His addition is a simple one. I trust what he says. They're a friendly bunch over there in Kimpton. I suggest that if anyone is interested they give them a call.

Totally O/T. I really dislike not having a Maserati in my life. Not the QP, other than on the motorway where everything else would just jump out of the way. But, my beautiful 4200. I think of that car at least once a week. The 964 C4 is great fun. But, it's not the same. :(

No worries! Glad it's still helping people out :)

There was a GTO breaker on eBay who always seemed to have some in stock.

Might go to Italy in the QP for a short break funded by the saving of clutch replacement done while I am there ;)
Be nice to have a spare for that journey.

I don't know how you can say that Robert!! There was SOOOOOO much anguish on here prior to the trip about who was carrying spares, not only spare wheels. There were tyres being ferried all around the country!

It's going to be much more important if going on your own, rather than with around 70 Masers in close proximity, some of whom would have loaned a spare wheel to anyone going with us.

So does the GranTurismo and QP have same wheel fitment? e.g. could a wheel from the GT fit my QP

The PCD and bore are the same, but I think the offset is different. The official spare wheel is I believe identical for both. And it's identically expensive too.

Lots went without Drew and did not think anything of it, yes there was loads of knicker wetting about it, but in the end all was well..!!

There is one for sale at the moment with GT S wheel on...I think these look fantastic on a QP.

I think you are still correct about the different offset, but apparently it still works in the direction GT wheels --> QP
Think the offset is in our favour, filling the QP wheelarches a little more, but still having clearance. Maybe the QP wheels might have issues on the GT (clearing the brakes?)

I stand corrected!

Yes, I'll buy that - those wheels certainly look like they are filling the QP arches more than my standard wheels do.
Anyway, it looks like it works that way :)

No question - a QP wheel won't fit in the wheel well, not even close... The GTO spare doesn't really fit in the wheel well, at least not flat.

Missed the ebay auction of GT WHEELS in Edinburgh. They went for £590 , won by bigc_21, anyone here?
They are a bit of a bargain, especially if they look like new for real!
