A busy afternoon in the workshop on the 66 R16.
Straightened up the damaged sills from people jacking in the wrong places.
Rear wheel cylinders were seized and leaking.
Master cylinder leaking at the pedal but was saved after a strip down.
A full fluid change.
Headlights out and fitted later halogen ones.
Removed the front fog lights and won those from the customer.
Love working on the old stuff so satisfying.

Only 4 built and all survive (although it’s complicated), must be one of the most beautiful Maserati's. Reminds me a bit of one of my other all time favourites, the Ferrari 250 SWB from this angle. Poise, aggression, elegance, power all at once.

I’ve got a funny feeling they only did 4 like that after Enzo got uppity with Pinnifarina. Can’t think why!

These are now so expensive, the only option is this for close to a Mil:

Having looked in my “all the Ferrari’s” book, I think it was a 275 GTB, I was told and then promptly forgot the number. I know it had a major refurb. I wonder whether the little chrome bumpers that would have been either side of the grill(e) were taken off then and replaced with the wrap around lights under the head lights. Not that I know anything. I wish I’d taken more photos, but they’d gone by the time I went back to my car. I just remember the grill gives it a bit of a sad expression!

Via Arco Mirelli. About 100 yards from my grandparents house. :)
Your grandparents must have legs like tree-trunks and not wear Pirelli-soled boots. They'd be forever sliding downhill, losing grip on the corners and generally causing chaos on those slippery cobbled streets if they made the mistake of wearing Italian-soled footwear.

GTO just up the road from my office, keep meaning to arrange a visit, and by coincidence a MK1 mini O once owned was restored by them for one of the sons.
I think their cars start at £750k

For those interested in the story of the Maserati A6GCS, here is a link with pics of all of them in some guise or other (there were switches of bodies, conversions to spyders and extra chassis‘ / bodies made) as well as the story with the Pinin Farina /Ferrari conundrum - interestingly from a very well informed Russian site!

Bob Bondurant passed away last week, often credited with starting more people off in motor racing than any other with his race school as well as winning the World Sportscar Championship

Sad, but what a lovely car, the Daytona Coupe. They make one here in SA now, I must say I have peeked a sneak many a time and been tempted. I once drove a replica Cobra with a 7.2l 3-speed (!). It didn’t really matter in which gear you had it with lower speeds, it bolted like lightning in any of them.

Friend of mine has a SA super performance 427 Cobra - it certainly is an awesome bit of kit

Superformance made the GT40s and Cobras for the Le Mans 66 film.
