Never knew Maserati had an 'official' green, I always thought the official Maserati colour was blue.

Every day is a school day and all that.

Apologies; that should have read in A Maserati green, not in Maserati green. I don’t know the shade of green but it is A Maserati colour of the period.

Once an ar5e always an ar5e - can't fault his football skills but, as BennyD would say, does he have to be such a tw*t
You can fault his driving skills though.
Last time he was up here he managed to write off a 599 going in a straight line on a dual carriageway through the tunnel under manchester airport runway. I think he was racing the goalie in a Bentley.

Superstar of sportscar racing as well as changing the Le Mans start, 1969 he refused to run to his car in the traditional manner but walked across the track, belted himself in and was therefore last off the line. One of the other 917 drivers did not belt up in his rush to get away and then fatally crashed on the first lap. Ickx went on to win and the Le Mans start was abandoned for ever.

It was John Woolfe that was killed, the company he founded still exists selling American car parts. They had a huge impact on early drag racing in this country.
