Ah, I thought it was a cryptic way of saying you have a long way to go before you get one!

Difficult to keep it to three but here goes.... top of the list is the Miura, preferably an S or an SV but since we're in daydream territory any Miura will do....!

77056

Runners up.... the Indy....

77057

And the Urraco....

77058

Talking of which, if I had the money right now I'd be all over this RHD beauty like a rash....

Interesting choice the Bristol. We bumped into its key man, Toby Silverton, the day we bought our GTS. Weirdly he’d bought a 456, a car which we’d recently out grown. Randomly parked next to us at a service station and had a chat over food, way back when you were allowed to talk to people.

Interesting this thread that most people's perfect car is as old as the hills........Isn't there a piece that says never drive your hero's as you may be disappointed. I was lucky enough to drive a Countach about 15 years ago.....Its a real pig to drive.....Had a picture on my wall as a child but I suppose this move on. My perfect car if I had to keep one for the rest of my life wouldn't be over 10 years old. These old classics just do not move me.

So Andy with that in mind what’s your take on Maseratis latest offering, the MC20?

Love it Matt....It looks better than I had expected......Its great to see a stunning looking Maserati again and the company moving forward and fighting with the big boys instead of trying to beat Jaguar, BMW and the company car market. Yes I get we will still have the Ghibli etc but they needed this halo car. Maserati was always a dream car for me and this MC20 put them back up there. ........ Hope it drives as good as it looks. I have been really disillusioned with Maserati for a number of years now and never though that would happen but I hope the MC20 will be the start of new desirable models again.....So yes....I like a lot.

Good to hear.

Im looking forward to the new GranTurismo especially as, if rumoured, it takes some of the MC20 styling over with it.

Same here Matt.....If they make these desirable cars again I can over look the ones that don't move me........If the new GT comes along and looks as good as the MC20 and occupies the part of the market like the old GT did then it should be a winner. Let's face it the GT with its proper 4 seats never had a real 4 seat coupe competitor at its price range. Certainly not one that was as exotic.....I am excited about these new models as I was when ai first saw the 3200.

Miura - classic V12 by your ear'ole.
E30 M3 - sometimes you have to go to the shops.

That's Pat Horans car, he also has a works rally version, at least 3 131 Rallye, a Stratos, Clubmans Integrale, Quattro, T16plus a few more not bad for a bloke who flogs Motorhomes
I guess motorhomes are doing well in this current climate, a bit like Amazon!!

Perfect car is difficult, I would have the style of the older cars but some of the comfort and drivability of the modern era. Some of the American car shows take the 70s muscle car and fit modern engines, suspension etc but the best I have seen was a BMW E9 3.0 CSi at Silverstone Classic that had been fitted with the 4.4 V8 from an E39 M5 and most of its running gear, it also had modern power steering, aircon and bluetooth radio fitted into a classic 70s radio shell. Looked super cool and I guess it drove well too
