Perfect Car

Perfect car is difficult, I would have the style of the older cars but some of the comport and drivability of the modern era. Some of the American car shows take the 70s muscle car and fit modern engines, suspension etc but the best I have seen was a BMW E9 3.0 CSi that had been fitted with the 4.4 V8 from an E39 M5 and most of its running gear, it also had modern power steering, aircon and bluetooth radio fitted into a classic 70s radio shell. Looked super cool and I guess it drove well too
An 8 track AND Bluetooth? Can't ask for more

I'm quite taken with the Brabham BT62R, especially as it's got 700BHP from a normally aspirated V8.

The F40 IS a given (especially as I can fit it it) whereas the 288 GTO drops out as you need 4 knees to be able to if you are over 5ft 8"

And of course an MC12 Corse (one of the road going ones).

Mark with you on the Brabham. Saw one in the flesh at Goodwood and it looks even better than in pictures.

Must wait until I see one I suppose.
The picture here takes me to Vax / Dyson in the bodywork

I keep saying it, but the Maserati Ghibli Cup.
Favourite cars 2&3 are the Alfa SZ and Lancia Delta Integrale, and it drives like a mixture of the two, and it shares similar styling cues to favourite car number four - Shamal. Also has two turbos like favourite car number five - Alpina B10 Biturbo.

Okay, so it’s not super car fast like an MC12, but it has more than enough power for the road, and it feels analogue, with no traction control. It feels alive through the steering wheel, pedals and gearshift. The GS MC V might be a better overall car, but there’s a level of connection to the Ghibli Cup that you don’t quite get.
I’ve been lucky to drive some special kit, and the number of cars that have the same level of steering feel and engagement on the road I can count on one hand (NSX Type R, for example; M3 CSL If you ignore the box, Alfa SZ etc; admittedly I’ve not driven any Loti other than a Carlton, but I believe the Esprit Sport 350/millennial TVRs are the same).

I am a Maserati lover, but objectively...

There’s a Norwegian guy who made the ultimate car Alpina didn’t actually make.

Ah, perfect for the dogs.
On the subject of Alpinas that should have been, a former Buchloe engineer put a B10 Biturbo engine in a B6 3.5 S E30 and it’s now for sale. I would turn myself into a paste quite quickly, but what a thing...

I prefer an E34 to an E30 sold my last of the line 525i for £900 5 years ago. It was immaculate, perfect unworn grey leather interior, no rust at all, went like the clappers. The look on the face of a bloke in a AM Rapide as I overtook him on the M40 while towing the race car was hysterical.

Found out after I sold it the bloke put the M52TU engine in an E30 and threw the rest away

Never saw myself as boring..Must take another look at myself in the mirror.........

The Germans have made some of the best usable performance cars for me. Ones that would leave most Italians rusting in their path. Anyone that just wouldn't entertain a German car because it's not Italain are missing out on some great cars and driving experiences....I certainly never though my E30 M3 looked dull as ditchwater but hey we also see something different in a car I suppose......

Totally agree some rubbish built back then for sure.
When you're in your new stead you will be totally spoilt.

We had a Marina. It was utter ****. I still have the (King Dick) hammer that has a bend in the shaft after Dad had the engine out and used it as a lever to get it back in line....
