Hi all

I bought a pale blue 4200 a month or so back , and live near Dewsbury west yorkshire.

My car is a 2003 CC and has done 22k miles.

Plan on getting a new exhaust , any suggestions?

Regards

Matt

Ps. I own a air conditioning machine and would be very happy to regas anyones Maserati for them .

Hi Matt,

Welcome to the forum.
I'm not far away from you just outside of Holmfirth.
Regarding exhausts I have the larini rear boxes fitted to mine, and they do transform the car...people do know you are coming!
It really depends if your Maser is a daily runner, or more a weekend toy. I love the exhaust on mine, but, if a daily runner, I think it would be a bit much...the sound pressure in the cabin at certain engine speeds is high, relieved by opening a window slightly.
Feel free if you wish to hear the sound first hand.
Cheers!

Hi Matt and a big welcome to the forum.............A few exhausts out there and it really all depends on if you use the car daily or just weekends as some are a tad loud...

Welcome to the forum Matt and congratulations on your new Maserati. That's great mileage for an '03.

Larini are the most popular choice of exhaust, but there's Tubi and also several places that will custom build / tune a pair of back boxes for you; MIJ being one.

Try to get to hear as many combinations as you can so that you know what each component does. I went for a full Larini system on my 4200, but it was LOUD (and eye-wateringly expensive), so I'm thinking this time I'll go Larini sports cats, partially muffled centre section and custom BB's. I've heard enough to know what I like and what I don't, and if it turns out to be cheaper, then all the better! :D.

Thanks for the welcome gents.

Car is weekend fun car, so no problem with loud (used to have a Caterham r500, that was very loud).....

Yes the larini are expensive, but if you do wish to go down the larini route and are not in a rush, they do crop up from time to time secondhand.
Mine came from a SportsMaserati forum member who was selling his car, the quality is so high, they could have been passed as new!
