I'm fortunate enough to have been in both the 959 and the F40 around Silverstone (as a passenger sadly...) and have done a good many road miles in the 959 too.
The 959 at low speed was always very clunky and all knuckles and CV joints but once on the move just came to life, on the track or when the second phase turbos kicked in God it was hellfire alive spitting fire on gear changes from both pipes and the dump valve underneath... The F40 was and remains an astonishing car and brutal but was typical of Ferrari build quality of that time (cr@p)!
I am not a fan of porkers and I so want to prefer the F40 but the 959 was just so ahead of it's time it has the edge in my books.... That said seeing them both tonight they both looked so dated and the roll, dive and lift was shocking compaired to even our road cars of the last decade...
