Do you unclick the display and take it in at night to stop it being stolen? I remember the old days of putting my click off Pioneer head unit under the passenger seat when I parked up - hardly foolproof!
You'd need a bloody big bag to carry it away in.

Iam not blown away by it, I expected something more jaw dropping. However it is a very good looking car, some interior shots would be good.

Price point will be a major seller for the GT.

I spoke to some Ford car testers today about the new mustang interior and he said they are stuck between older buyers who like all the old switches etc and the new younger buy who want every touch screen and mobile connected.

Touch screen in a car is just awful. Who ever decided it was a good idea needs shooting. But I am old

While the new design is nice, skilfully integrating the MC20 family ‘look’ more effectively than the Grecale, I don’t see it as advancing the game over the Alfieri.

My kids at 21 and 24 dislike the touch screen 'evolution'. So much so my son bought a Mk 7 Golf GTi instead of a Mk 8 as he hated the controls.

I saw a few Grecales in Italy last weekend. They look considerably better in the flesh than in photos.

Just me, or has the lead Designer taken a leaf out of the 911 playbook? Not exactly a rampant new look

Lets be honest, Maserati is a niche brand, but I do like clean lines that third parties cannot find a reason for body kits and other awfull add ons.

It's a car that can turn up at a nice prestigious event and people would say mmmmmmmm what's that ?

An Aston has nice clean lines

Maserati is not a mass volume but there is appreciation from other big boy brands who know who we are and what we drive.

If it's not broken, dont fix it.

I'm my opinion looks very seductive and the Porshe boys have been making the same looking car for what seems an eternity but no one dares accuse them of lack of design

Just a thought

At least it’s not rubbish to look at. So many new cars are. I was overtaken by an Aston SUV last week and thought it was a Ford in my rear view mirror. Nearly threw up when it had gone by.

All it takes is for the YouTube generation to get their hands on these. A few of the bigger ones will prob get one free for 3 months. Will it be faster than the fastest GT's. If close then will be a hit for sure

It's called haptic feedback. It's a PITA but it's cheaper, and simpler. It will get better

Running your fingers over a screen making it look grubby every trip is rubbish and these things are dangerous as you have to take you eyes off the road for longer than if you had good old fashion dials and buttons. At least with buttons and dials you could operate most without taking your eyes off the road these touch screens you can’t. Don’t like and never will. What works at home in you iPads and phone doesn’t necessarily mean it will in a car….and to be honest it bugs the feck out of me having clean my phone screen all the time because. if finger marks…..You may have picked up I am not a fan of touch screen full stop C. :)

Nor I! What I was trying to say (badly) is that what you miss is the feedback. Haptics are getting better (late iPhone home 'buttons' for example. I defy anyone to tell the difference between one and a physical button) and will continue to improve so you don't have to take your eyes off the screen.

But right now I'd rather have buttons.

Can you imagine what the cabin of a modern car would look like if buttons replaced all the ones on the screen (not withstanding the generalised "anti-tech" sentiment) It'd be like a 747 cockpit :)

Like others I am rather surprised at the close continuation of the GT design but it’s testament to how good the outgoing model is. They will appear at show and park next to the outgoing model and no doubt adorning crowds but as soon as you start that V8 the new owner will think ‘bollox’

With Peugeot behind them and free from the constraints of Ferrari power throttling, I would say the future looks very bright indeed for the Modenese.

The problem is with all the regs that came into place in 2020 they will never sound as good as the old car. The aftermarket brigade will do an amazing trade…Well until they ban loud exhausts altogether. I was at Aston Martin in Bristol a few weeks back and a 2018 Vantage drive in and 2021 Vantage was going out. One was definitely louder than the other. Salesman said many restrictions are place now when bring out a new car that they are not as loud.

I have confidence that the new car will drive better than the old and still make you smile and it shouldn’t cost as much to run with that V6 which I think is a big bonus when you look at MPG of the old car. Noise can always be added and that new engine feels like it is a bloody good power unit.

I read this morning that “Although the 2024 Maserati Granturismo will have a new engine, the grand-tourer will still ride on the existing M139 Maserati rear-wheel drive platform that has been the basis for the model since 2007.”
And the same is true for the EV model…..
