Normal 2022 service has resumed. Looks like it’s going to be a RB walk in the park for the race. Any bets on how Ferrari will screw the pooch tomorrow?

Fitting end to the season I guess, Max faultless, Perez just not fast enough to get Leclerc. Ferrari not screwing it up for a change. No excitement for the win but enough narrative down the line to keep it an interesting race. Bring on 2023!

Mclaren I believe have their own in-house wind tunnel available so I’m expecting to see them make a considerable step forward. I hate to say it but if not Lando should move on

I thought they’d always had a tunnel?

Ferrari get 2nd in the drivers championship, is that their highest finish since Massa? Case of Chianti on its way from Fiorano to Max!

He did a great job in dragging them up to the front but there were several questionable decisions throughout 2022. I think they were exaggerated by the media though, at the end of the day in race trim the RB was faster, simple as that. From the answer Fred Vasseur gave in an interview a week or so back I would be putting my money on him taking over

I agree

I think consistency in key operating staff is important and binotto brought about some of that. From what we can see Ferrari is as toxic work environment internally as they come.

I have previously worked for two Italian companies for many years while with both the pressure to deliver the figures was always incredibly high... one of them had very stable management and maintained its position in the market over the years while another had a fairly irrational fire/hire mentality as a result they continue to circle the drain. You can't deliver 5 year strategy based off your predecessor that was fired 4 years ago and there has been 3 other people in the role before you.

Regardless of the reasons, having a car capable of that many poles and not turning them into wins suggests something is wrong. Be it strategy, the drivers or even the car itself they still need to step up, its race wins that count and Ferrari were just not good enough, again!

Thinking of Alpine (and I’ve not bothered to check back in the thread), I think I predicted a 4th place finish. Do I win a prize?
