all you merc lovers must be over 50........
they are fast in a staright line but nothing else....cheaply made, not like the mercs of the 80s or 90s and look chavvy in the C63 with all those spoiler....
Ms are better cars round a track, netter in everyday life also discreet......just my opinion please dont shoot me.......

wouldn't say they were cheaply made Dem, Merc did go through a phase in the late 90's early 00's but i think the quality is back.
You say the mercs are not like the cars of the 80's or 90's, look at BMW, they are the same they make some real horrible stuff like the x1, x6, 5 series GT etc.
I prefer the c63 as it is not discreet, i wouldn't spend 50k on a sports saloon to blend in.

the x6 is lovely, merc dont do good 4x4s and the z4 is better than the slk.....
6 series is better than the sl and the 1 series is bettert han the c class coupe...ever been in one of them...cheap....
only the supercars they have bmw better off like the SLS....the C63 has a 6.2 litre engine, the M3 has 4.0 and its faster....

Dem the X6 is a dog i think, yep the Z4 is streets ahead of the SLK and the ML is cr4p. 6 series better than the SL?? If you say so, 6 series is horrible and never sold that well. The M6 was a flop, at 80k, too expensive, people just bought 911's, R8 and Aston V8 Vantage instead.
1 series is better than the c class coupe, but the 1 series is hardly exciting, would rather VW Scirroco instead.

the M6 was better than the aston....at 80k people dont want a BMW but at that power it was the best for me and at 20k its the best for me.......

M6 not compared to R8, it does have front engine and rear wheel so not supercar....R8 has mid engine

Yep put me down for the boring camp cant stand then. All my mates can tell the models apart from the trim at 200 yards, I think they all look the same.

Little bit misguided there Adam , i have a 2006 top spec 240 clk and the build quality compared to my 2002 clk is absolute shiite , Merc have gone backwards since their amalgamation with Chrysler , it might have all the gadgets and look the part but its rubbish believe me , atleast Porsche and BMW have maintained their quality and consistancy for being bland .......

Last proper m car was the E30 M3 .... No other has been made for competition.... Last great M car which is different to proper was the M3 CSL ..... I have driven most and must say all are brilliant cars...Even the ones that are not so good are still ahead of the competition.

yeah but was the same price Dem, wouldn't say the M6 was better than the Aston really, M6 was uglier, more expensive and didn't look that special hence the fact they lost 20k straight away and you can now pick up an M6 for 25k.

I agree enz, the aston is prettier and more desirable and yes id have one over the M6 but with 12k difference and lack of power it does make it interesting....if i had the money then aston.....

A good friend of mine chopped in a Boxster S against an all black, 2 year old Vantage (380 bhp). He had it for less than 6 months and part exed it against a new Boxster S and took the best part of a 10k hit. He said it wasn't that quick and didn't handle all that well, in short, disappointing. He loved having it in his garage but didn't like driving it. Based on that I would take the M6 for the driving experience and accept that I would miss out on the admiring glances.
