I've had funny dreams about wearing womens underwear Andy, if you do it on a regular basis, how do you find it, Oh and good tip with the vaseline, never thought of that.

OK Andy you have convinced me, off with the boxers and on with briefs, Oh no not them, they are crutchless, Oh yes these will do it, nice and silky, love the frilly bits and the heart on the front is lovely. Here I go off on one again, shut up Robert!!!

RSM Masser.
Haven't been through all the thread but read of your little misdemeanour.
Much will depend upon how you react in court. My advice is to go in very contrite, no over-confidence and hope for a just magistrates bench.
With 110mph, you are in the realm of automatic bans. This, and the fine, could well depend upon the financial details you supply. If you are seen as having a decent income, they may go for the hefty fine; if not you could hope for leniency.
Best guess is that you'll have a £300 fine and 56 day ban but no points. Funnily enough this makes the insurance afterwards much easier. In fact my car insurance the following year didn't change after mine.
For your info I was convicted for 132mph; but the video they supplied with the summons showed more which I won't disclose now but would in a PM together with my own fines etc.

Mark many thanks for getting the thread back on track, I had no idea about all the cross dressers we were attracting.

I personally think he will get 6 points and a hefty fine.

Personally I would take the ban and cycle to work and not have to be the driver on pub night.

Sound advice, general opinion agrees with Matt, 6 points and a fine - not heard anything from the rossers yet, early days though as it can take 6 weeks.

could you opt for the half day speed training ?

Another on topic post!!

Rather exact, but 86mph in a 70mph limit is the current Met threshold for this. So no, it's court for you. 30mph over the limit is an instant ban unless you can show hardship (economic or otherwise) is inflicted because of it, but in reality a good solicitor coupled with the fact you were polite and contrite about the offence COULD get you a large fine (you will be asked details of your income), dependent on magistrate. However, you were 40mph over, not 30mph over...

It is impossible to get a ban AND points, it is one or the other. This is because a ban in in fact 12 points given on the spot, hence loss of license. 6 is the minimum whenever you go to court, however the prosecution will push strongly for a ban of 28-56 days for 110mph. The very best you can hope for is a 28 ban IMHO and fine dependant on your income, I was fined £400 13 years ago - a lot of dosh back then! The prosecutor will be sure to mention your 'high powered, expensive Maserati sports car' as well to get the bench onto his/her side.

I was banned for 56 days in 1999. Since talking to my insurers, 50% of insureres will NEVER quote for me again due to haveing been banned. A ban stays on your record permanently whereas points disappear. The questions asked is 'have you had points in the last 5 years, and have you EVER been banned?'. Avoid the ban at all costs, and get a brief if you can, it'll save you money 10 years down the line!

Good luck, as Robert says, there but for the grace of god... we've all done it :(
