My first Maserati

Hello

I recently bought an 02 4200CC from a friend of mine, he's had it for the last 4 years and has had Marios at Autoshield look after it so it's in very nice condition, along with a Tubi exhaust it also has a set of Grandsport springs fitted

I've had it a few weeks now and am loving it, except for parking it on uphill slopes - very slow speed maneuvering seems to be quite tricky - it just wants to move far faster than I'd like it to in 1st or reverse

Other than that I think the CC box is great as long as it's in sport mode and I seem to be using the left hand side of my body less and less when driving this car - I'll shift up when I want and I'll let it shift back down for me at the junctions, although more spirited driving does get my full attention and I use both paddles then :)

I'm already starting to lose count of the number of waves / smiles / nice comments that the car is getting, it seems to have a very positive effect on people :)

By the sounds of it David its having a very profound effect on you too, glad you have got yourself a sorted car , Marios is a great guy , and very knowledgeable of the Marque so be rest assured , the rarity and exclusivity of owning a Maserati will bring all the smiles you could ever want , even the hoodies respect them over Fezza's , enjoy and look forward to hearing more from you in the future

We are a very interactive forum so any problems be sure to shout , so take a good look around when you have a moment , there' is a good technical section if your a little adept to sorting somethings yourself

regards loz

Yeah....its like driving automotive cocaine........you get quite a high!! Yup, they are well known for being a bit jumpy at low speeds when cold.......not too bad when warm...but requires a light touch!

Welcome David.

Yes, it does have a positive effect on people like few other cars I have experienced.

Enjoy the car and the great site.

Cheers

Dave

Wow, what a warm welcome, thank you all very much

This is the only pic I have to hand at the moment, although the car is back on a normal number plate now

I've got a few questions brewing so I'll be sure to ask them in another thread

I got one of my old Celica GT4's out last night for the first time since I bought the Mas (I was going to play a pool match and didn't facncy leaving the Mas in that particular car park) and I can't believe how wierd it felt, from the seating position to using a gear stick and clutch again - how quickly we forget LOL

Hi Dave
I bought my spyder just over a month ago. still wake up smiling.
looking for any excuse to drive it & my wife friends asked me last night if I would like to store it in their garage.
there are down sides to owning one. I drove into my local builders merchants this morning in it instead of my old jeep & the a***les wouldn't give me a discount.
hope you have many many happy hours driving it.
