Well worth watching TraumaZone on iPlayer. Tells the story of how Russia got to the state it was in prior to Putin. Fascinating, sobering watch, with quite obvious parallels to modern Russia, but also to the UK's own Trussonomics.
Unlike other Adam Curtis productions there's no soundtrack or VoiceOver.

Looks like something from an 80s movie but you wouldn't want to be looking at it with your WTF is that face on

Hear me out...first, we buy all the remote control helicopters at radio shack, and two dozen rolls of duct tape. No, wait, wait...why are you laughing...you haven't heard the best part...
That's what's been happening, drones are being donated to the Ukrainians, small ones for surveillance, big ones for dropping things on sleeping russians who think they're safe in a trench

Now they've got terminator drones

Every day there are children being shot dead in cold blood by the authorities in the streets of Iranian towns and cities as they protest The Regime for their liberty but the media is focussed on who Russia is buying their weapons from.

You're quite right, but Iran was perceived as a threat only to the middle East and has limited reach. Russia however is a far bigger threat.

We talk as if Russia is using Iran but to my mind Iran is using Russia to attack the west by proxy

What is really tragic is that everyday people are risking their lives by striking and picketing vital heavy industries with the aim to strangle The Regime's purse strings in order to make them submit to the grass roots uprising - the arms deal with Russia means they have got a huge cash injection to continue their oppression indefinitely.

Keep in mind that Russia will be buying arms off those countries who are on the same naughty step as them which means that there will be plenty of North Korean missiles being delivered to them very soon - essentially the international community has stuck a petty criminal in with hardened lifers who will teach them how get around the sanctions and they will exist in the same sphere together... It was very naive if the West did not expect this outcome.

You better start praying 3 times a day then or the mullahs will send their basij to threaten your family and ruin your livelihood...

Meanwhile in Iran, I wouldn't.walk around so confidently by myself if I was a member of the clergy

A senior source in the Polish prime minister's office has told the BBC: "It's informational chaos."
"I have no certainty and I cannot confirm anything," the source said.

Yesterday, the Ukrainian Armed Forces claimed to have killed 100,000 Russian servicemen. That's more than our regular Army alone. Sad reflection on one man's paranoia.

Lawd...hadn't heard that. But to be clear, those likely weren't all "regulars" either...can only imagine the lot of conscriptees, kidnap victims, and/or prisoners who got ten minutes of training and a one-way ticket to the front...

A lot of their regulars were from poorer parts of the Russian Empire where opportunities are few and far between. And who's to say to that many of the prisoners instantly surrendered for an easier life in a Ukrainian POW camp.

Khomeini was more sick, he killed that many in days/weeks in the Iran-Iraq war
