I get the usually doom and gloom other parties on the band wagon straight away but I believe in giving someone a chance and so I will make a decision on her once I see if she can or cannot deliver for the country. Can’t see how anyone can judge her as a Prime Minister until you see what she does….Would like to add I am not a fan of her but that isn’t the point.

I honestly don’t see how anyone can actually be successful in this role now. The media are straight into them. Their own party will be doing their best to undermine them while feathering individual aspirations while the opposition party offer nothing but er …..opposing. Sh1t show of the greatest magnitude this country has got into.
meanwhile it all serves to bolster the aspirations of a despot in the east.

"Delivery, delivery, delivery." shows how bereft she is in terms of a vision. Deliver what, exactly?
She grew up Labour and CND. Flirted with the Lib Dems. Then settled on the Conservatives.
She styles herself on Margaret Thatcher, but she's the opposite of Thatcher.
Thatcher was a conviction politician. Truss, as described by Nicola Horlick, is interested
in power for its own sake. Not what she can do with it.
I suspect that when Liz Truss walks into a room. Nobody notices. Charisma and presence
matter. These qualities will help you bind people to you. She has none of this.
According to Horlick. On one day she was an ardent Remainer. Literally, the next she
was a committed Leaver. This wasn't about conviction. According to Horlick, this was
about the likelihood of achieving power.
Apparently she enjoys being compared favourably to Thatcher. Hence the awkward photo
ops on tanks etc. Like Boris, who wanted to make believe he was another Churchill. I would
suggest that only someone with no identity of their own, would try so hard to be seen as
somebody else.
What is her vision for the cost of living crisis? To throw more money at the problem.
100's of billions of money that we don't have. So we borrow. But our debt to GDP ratio
is almost the highest its been since WWII. It was only slightly higher during the pandemic.
The trouble is. We have to service our debt via interest payments and BoE interest rates are
set to double over the next year or two.
Inflation is the highest its been for forty years and you can't spend your way to lower inflation.
You cut spending and increase taxes, to lower demand in the economy. Trouble is, we are predicted
to enter a period of stagflation at the turn of the year. Low growth, higher unemployment and
higher interest rates. Households spend less. Lowering demand further.
Truss's only 'choice' may indeed be to throw money at the problem. She is rumoured to be discussing
price subsidies with the energy companies to the tune of £90-100 Bn +. To make that work, she must
get cast iron agreement from the energy companies to maintain current pricing into 2024.
Simultaneously, she must bear down on wage increases, to lower inflation.
We will still have a recession. But one that hopefully, we bounce back from in a year or two.
Obviously, much depends on global commodity prices. So Truss will have to act with other governments
to lower these asap. If that doesn't happen. Then throwing money at domestic energy costs may not succeed.
What is certain is that if the government cuts taxes, then UK plc will have less money for the NHS and social care. Justice. Defence. Infrastructure. Agriculture. Levelling up. Will notions of improving social equality be sacrificed for UK plc? Probably.
All of Truss's career, she has done what is best for Truss. Will she suddenly change and put country before party and self? If she succeeds in leading the country through the next year, through the coming recession. Will Boris, Priti and others attempt to oust her, before the 2024 general election. Of course they will. Its not the divided opposition she has to fear. But her enemies on the backbenches behind her.

I think the UK needs a new direction, it seems a bit lost to me (looking from the outside). There used to be a more or less common agitator, the EU, against which the UK could profile itself. Now that they’ve gone it alone, they will need some proper vision to succeed. Without it there are frankly just 2 outcomes - downhill or re-join the EU. Both of these would come at a cost, re-joining the EU would have more long term benefits obviously. The current government has now had two crises to blame the negatives of Brexit on, COVID and the Ukraine. The stark reality will eventually come through. Just my 2 shillings /ounces /lbs ;) - I’ll go for a pint now
