I was just wondering if her job is actually tougher than Teresa May's.

Both are the proverbial sh*t sandwich.

Truss won with 81,326 votes to Sunak’s 60,399 member votes — or 57 per cent of the total. Looks like he was starting to make up some ground but ran out of road, time or both.

By my calculations, she got 48% of all eligible Tory party member votes. So many who did not vote. Shocking that so many didn’t care to vote so I tend to agree with you!

As with them all we will have to see if she lives up to her promises. The idea of doing something different makes sense but its a big risk to play with a countries economy

If she got 48% of eligible voters then overall turnout was in the high eighty percent. That’s pretty good.

Boris mk1 lasted 3 years. How long for Boris mk2 and which of the top 3 jobs is she going to give Nadine Doris!!!??

Looks like BJ Mk 2 is favouring loyalty over competence for the entire new cabinet. That’s barmy even with a leader who has a strong vision, integrity and consistent values. With Ms Truss, it is a recipe for disarray and disaster.

Liz Truss: 81,326
Rishi Sunak: 60,399
Electorate: 172,437
Turnout: 82.6%
Rejected ballot papers: 654

Here's some context based on Conservative leadership votes:
Truss - 57.4%
Johnson - 66.4%
May - (no members vote)
Cameron - 67.6%
Duncan Smith - 60.7%

Or perhaps a more interesting context based discussion...
Liz Truss wants to change the law to require 50% of a workforce to vote "yes" in order for a strike to go ahead
Liz Truss just won 47% of support from the Conservative membership to become leader

Still there are some records she can aim for, shortest UK PM anyone?
There is already talks of a vote of no confidence. I expect there will be another leadership race prior to the next GE, where they find someone less absurd to appoint to help them win the next GE simply by not being as bad as Truss
