A *** V6 (R32) in an Elise, sounds epic and 300bhp. So the question is... would an Alfa V6 sound better and/or be more powerful? And I suppose the million dollar question is would it fit and is it lighter? (Ok, so that's 2 questions)

When I have cash burning a hole in my pocket again I want to do something special with my Elise and this noise is a good place to start imho.

What say you?

if the R32 fits the Busso will fit but dont fettle around with the baby 3.2 go the full hog and fit the 3.8! 330ish bhp sounds like a frigging dream the Alfa V6 is about lighter .
R32 220KG iirc Alfa V6 170KG iirc Dry weights

Think I'll have nightmares now;....more porkers than you could throw a stick (bomb) at (worth a good try through) Was that a Ginetta in the mix?

Dan, Alfa would sound better.....Would it be faster....Ummm, thats a hard one as not seen An Alfa V6 pumpong out 300bhp plus (unless its an Auto Delta).....Probably......One thing is for sure it would look a whole lot better and be pretty original......

Tat GT2 left all standing....Bloody quick....

the 3.8 upgrade on a 3.0 or 3.2 lump will push out over 300 easily and the upgrade is easy if a little pricey.

Suppose you don't see many Alfa's running 300 bhp due to front wheel drive.......Remember driving an Alfa Delta with 260 bhp and that could hardly handle the power.....In a rear drive Elise it would be much better.

My GT had the same issue. The power was there, but it just wasn't always useable, even in a straight line.

No it was the 3.0......Had different springs, Q2...Great little car...Took her on track a few times and found that a 147 GTA couldn't keep up whic was a supprise...

Springs Dampers and Q2 on a Alfa will make more of a difference than a beefed up engine.
a mate of mine had the 156 GTA with Q2 Dampers and springs and that was a Fantastic motor felt SO planted and all the power was useable.

Dan how were you thinking of running it? a standalone ECU for the engine? with a 3.2 lump a good free flowing exhaust and the standalone ECU you might get 275-280bhp.. with the 3.5 setup you could reach 310ish + exhaust and ECU or with the 3.8 you'd be looking 340-350BHP the 3.5 and 3.8 conversion cost the same or with a lot of rewiring and using ALFA ECU's you'd get 260 BHP from the 3.2 and exhaust 290ish BHP from the 3.5 and exhaust or 320-330 From the 3.8.
using the Euro 3 2.5 ECU would be the best option if you were to rewire that being the cheaper option but hardest to implement. using the Standalone ECU would be the easier but more expensive option

then you have mating it to the gearbox and custom rear axle.. a 75 rear Axle might work...

BTW i wouldnt use the AutoDelta conversion kits if you went down that route.
