Good question.......what sellers really fear is an organised, smart, demanding.....possible pressure group......aka the two fora in UK.....might not sit well, see us as a mini threat....maybe?

maybe a threat to another group closer to maserati uk

I don't know enough about other groups status to make a comment Rob.........but as we've seen on the box recently...............if enough people complain and take it on themselves to change things and get things done, then things happen!

They have been onto us again about using logos and names etc.

So, if anyone wishes to put forward to some suggestions for a new logo feel free.

We cannot use the work Maserati on its own, but can use SportsMaserati as one word, so thats no biggy.

We cannot use the trident, script, but we can still use the red GS.

I look forward to your suggestions.

we need a part of the logo for the forum buttons, so it will need to be able to fit in a square.

Seem to remember one of the BMW boards having a similar problem, I think in their case they had to change their URL.

Where have you read that? Wasn't 2008 a record year anyway?

Yeah i believe Frank 7/8 new dealerships in the Asian Market mostly China Taiwan , thats where most of the Big money is being earned and spent , made sense to expand out there when the west was a shrinking market , Factory is still operating just under capacity ,

Though am not sure figures on the FIAT group report wholly support these numbers mentioned ...aint read through them yet!

Thanks, so sales in the US were roughly

2008 - 2500 cars
2009 - 1250 cars
2010 - 1750 cars.

Also interesting that Bentley only sold 1200 cars in 2010, thereby Maserati selling nearly 50% more cars. Can't think its like that here in the UK, you seem to see 10 Bentley GT's for every Maserati around our parts.

The figures still don't add up as they were stating that the total output in 2010....at 5675.......?!

FY revenue up 30.8% to €586mn primarily attributable to excellent sales performance for new GranCabrio
5,675 units sold, up 26.4%
Positive performance in majority of 59 national markets
USA, #1 market: +45%
UK: +72%
China: +128% (becoming 4th largest market)

Just been giving this some thought....

How about using the MC Sport line script?

images-8.jpeg

For the forum buttons we could have SM set in the pedal rather than MC?

images-9.jpeg

And / or maybe pick up on the Stradale detailing?

images-11.jpeg

We could also change the car to the stradale to pick up on the sports theme?

Miles, there are 100s of different types of script.......there must be one...very/pretty close to Maseratis' themselves...............why not use that one and Trade Mark/Copyright it for this forum?

Of course you're right P, there are hundreds of similar typefaces. The more generic fonts are open source, the rest protected under intellectual property copyright. This usually takes the form of a font library who will protect it on behalf of the designer. By the by really, as it's easy to find a similar font as open source, which is where using the MC Sport Line font might play to our favour, as it's much more of a generic. If we're lucky, we might be able to protect the SM initials in the gold-edged red font as the intellectual property of the forum. Just a thought?

No they wouldn't be able to get us as the type is open source, SM are just initials and Maserati SpA can't copyright the word 'Maserati' in and of itself. Only in relation to the nature of their business. It's a surname after all. No different to Ford or McDonald or Ferrari.
