And apparently the car doesn't give a hoot, either ;)

Anyone had horn problems before?

TIA

Horn is an MOT failure if its not working, so you will need to get it fixed. Its going to be one of 3 things:
1. Fuse
2. Contacts not making on the horn ring
3. No power or earth to the horn ring.

If its 2 or 3, the wheel will have to come off and and be dismantled...a garage job I feel. If you do take it off, can you do a pictorial how to guide for us.

Or horn(s) broken (unlikely that both fail). I have a deep distrust about airbags [1] so even having read the 'wrinkling airbag cover' thread, I suspect your're right.

Can anyone actually tell me where the horns are? I'm guessing in the NSF wheel well, or under the NS cover in the engine bay.

Fuse 12 and relay H seem to be under the dash.

Cheers

Catman,
I'm looking for the horns too, mine sounds like a Fiat 500 toot, so I am assuming maybe one horn is not working, I can't see Maserati having a horn sounding like a 500.

According to Eurospares there are two. One high and one low. The parts diagram has them floating in mid air somewhere around the NSF wheel. I'm *guessing* that it'll be on the inner wing, under that sexy looking shroud.

I'm not likely to have a chance to look over the weekend, but I'll get Feli to look when he gets it on Monday for the matrix swap :)

there is a diagram in the workshop manual shows where the horns are, my manual is with my garage chums who are rebuilding the front of the car so can't get at it right now.

Hmm, thanks. Where is such a manual available from?

I keep meaning to put a proper set of air horns on mine but there are other priorities....

That would make me think that the horns are located very close to the washer system, I will have to have a look.

I reckon inner wing, under the grill, but there's a man hitting my passenger door with an assortment of plastic hammers right now, plus it's bloody chilly so it'll wait :)

Well the man with the hammer has done a remarkable job of getting the parking dings out, and wanted to look under the bonnet. While I was there, I whipped off the black inspection grill. *Lots* of stuff under there, but none of it looking like horns!
I guess next bet is in the wheel arch behind the liner. :(

Now you're talking...

Fiam do a decent set of air horns with full 12v installation kit for about 30 squids, so I might just add that to the list of ''little'' 4200 jobs to be done when the in-laws arrive over Christmas.
That's assuming of course that I can work out where to put them...
Anyone else tried this?
