I've heard a GT with valved Larini back boxes and to be honest I have to say I wasn't impressed. Okay when open, but when shut it sounded strangled. Go for the GTS pipe configuration as well. The twin pipe configuration looks wrong, they're too big and stick out too far (IMO).

Agree Miles...they do look a little odd at the back...One more thing that hasn't been designed well at the back of the car.....IMO as well.

Once you get some choice DMS and FD ungrades upgrades would a GT be a match for a GT S......

The 4.2 GT has a ZF automatic transmission which zaps the power so it wouldn't be a match for a GT S , or possibly even a QP duoselect.

Interesting thread, been away for 3 weeks. There are loads sitting around and yes, they will be £35k at the end of the year. If you are fairly knowledgeable as most of us are, you'll get a 4.2, 40k miles at the auction in Nottingham for even less on a good day by November. Now they'll be about £40k. I'm starting to get excited, I'll be involved when they're £35k region. Going to have to forget the 4.7 and have DMS do their thing on a 4.2 instead.

Currently the cheapest cars are 47k, why will they loose another 12k in 6 months? You "might" see them go below the 40K mark in Nov but they will be the cars with the worst colours/mileage/condition etc. I've a friend who since I got the QP always reminds me what the cheapest QP currently is on Autotrader. I then remind him that if the car needs a main service/tyres/brakes/clutch it could easily add 6k to that price and it would still have mega miles and a dodgy colour combo to boot.

People always worry about price....These cars are bought with the heart as you can not really justify with the head a purchase like this espcially in the current climate....If I worried about resale on the cars I've bought then I woul have had a £200 banger every year...............Buy enjoy, drive, smile....be happy......If you want it then do it as you only come around this way once....

The cheapest for sale today is £44,950, Autotrader. I agree with the false economy of buying one that needs £6k of work but there are auction cars about at times that need less than £500. I clearly stated in my original post that the price I was talking about was auctions. There is no way that they can be going through auctions at £47k if they're for sale for less than that. The private guy selling the cheapest one will be fully aware that he'd be lucky to get £40k now at the auctions.

Interesting. I think that prices will get where you expect them to be mate but ask dealers about colours and the market and price spreads is clear.

The MM car is spot on for what the market wants (dark outside/light inside) and is relatively low mileage (the main other variable as most cars have comfort pack and 20" wheels). Dealers seem to see grey or red leather as struggling as punters want cream (or the four or so derivatives of it that Maser have done) or black basically - I know the latter is against what I just said but people seem to accept black but not accept reds, greys/burgundy/navy. All just what I have been told.

FWIW Metallic black with Avorio must be the main dealers used car buyer's dream whereas the two off silvers (one gold, one blue) with red/grey leather must be a nightmare.

Not sure about all the intricacies re combos and packaging...meaning its sorta stuff that goes over my head at times, .....plus its sometimes difficult to cut through the salesmans hype/spin.

Note on the 90 odd for sale on AT.....no reds, yellows, blues, browns.

A Bianco Fuji and Bordeaux listed though.

Might start looking at GT early 2012. Alwys promised myself a QP first even in preference to the newer GT.

Seen a few GT in dark blue with light interior and they are really onto something.

................am I the only one still here (at work on Friday night :sigh:)
