Following on from the dash cam thread I hijacked the other day, I went out this morning and flew the quadcopter over some nearby disused power station cooling towers (for those near Derbyshire it the old Willington power station).

Video is best viewed in HD of course - sorry for the shakes in places, got a bit windy up there !

Ill tell you what that is one seriously cool bit of kit you have there mate.

No end of snooping possibilities.

Can you list out what kit you were us ring there plus some approximate cost.

I have been interested in a quad copter ever since I saw this, just waiting for poor old Tarquin to kick his boots:

Wow, that's a great toy Ren. The picture quality is very good and if you say it was windy I'm impressed by how stable the picture was.

I fly a TBS Discovery frame with Tiger motors and Graupner props. GoPro Hero 3 as the video recording camera, Naza + GPS as the flight controller, Boscam 5.8Ghz video transmitter and Sony 650 TTL FPV camera.
All powered by 4S 4000mAh Lipo battery
On board video is viewed live (as in First Person View) via a set of FatShark Dominator googles.

All in about a grand and a bit I guess (without counting the crashes and repairs !)

All can be found on
www.team-blacksheep.com
www.firstpersonview.co.uk
www.quadcopters.co.uk

Le Mans would be cool - but a bit dangerous, if it were to fall out of the sky over the track as it weighs about 1.5Kg all up.

That is amazing - the definition and stability are incredible. Seriously impressively.

Ren, can you let us know what the range of these things are? I have a colleague in Sofia who's dying to know :)

Another question Ren:

You seem to have the camera orientation perfect all the way through the videos, are you flying these with a real time video link so you see what is being filmed?

Newton, if the spec he's posted is what he was using, then yes, I think he is:
