Did this just efeect face lift cars or was it an issue on all QP's up to 2009 ?

I thought there was a cut off based on the engine number for which models had the original versus modified components fitted from the factory but I can't find the thread that says this just now

This is my specialist subject :)

I concluded mine was done under warranty as it was just within the 3 yrs and there was no charge applied to the invoice.
The owner at the time must have taken it in due to the noise prior to end of warranty period. Think that was at 24k miles from memory.

Difficult to go on year of car as some get registered late. Engines before number 148697 have the old style variators.

Thanks for the clarification Craig
Mine were done by Giallo in December 2014 for the previous owner when the mileage was at 47,500, my engine number is 139369

Engine number needs to be higher than 148697 for avoiding Variator issues (according to a lot of guys on this forum), so it would seem to fit

How can it be said that it is overpriced without viewing. It looks to be utterly perfect throughout. If someone views it and it is tatty, poor history, or issues, THEN it can be stated that it is overpriced.

I dont need to look at it to know it wont sell for £40k ultimately the market will decide
Good luck with the sale

I'm afraid you were wrong. The car sold within 24 hours of being listed for in excess of 40k. Very pleased to say it's going to a good home. Thank you to all above for your comments and help.

Good to hear you got a sale so quickly, well done, it looked like a special car. This is why i say it is so hard to value cars without viewing them.

Well done, you get what you pay for and for a special car, possibly one the best examples around, the right person clearly came along

Delighted it sold and so quickly suggests someone thinks it was a bargain and it probably was.
We can be guilty on here (and I have probably in the past) of rubbishing values of these cars and in some ways we perpetuate the myths about reliability and running costs as well as values.
We should be more positive at times about our cars. Just my 2p.
