Glad you sold it mate and pleased to see prices staying high even for QP's which do take a beating. The fact is that this looked like an "immaculate" example and it was low miles plus being an S made it a no brainer for someone wanting a V. Let's face it the new QP6 is nowhere near as good looking as the V.

I see it's now been marked as sold so I stand corrected! Blimey never thought a QP could fetch that much money in today's market place!

Urgh.....having agreed the deal, booked the car into Egham to have its service, MOT and healthcheck carried out....the purchaser has now backed out on accord that his current car is not worth as much as he had hoped. Very frustrating as there is now the issue of a deposit to return or not return, if it arrives I guess.

Have replied to 3 other enquiries that dropped in before I terminated the sale but if they also turn out to be time wasters the car will be back up for sale.

Rockits.....love the garage, esp the R129 SL500. Proper car!

Sorry to hear that PHAB. Typical messers. You can see why I get my brother to sell my cars for me!

Thanks about R129 comment ;) Been trying to do a deal to get an SL60 again which would mean selling the SL500 but no deal yet. I had done a deal over the phone with the owner at a price then got a one way train ticket to find it was not quite as good as hoped or expected. I have made a good offer that works for me but he is going through the pain of lots of messers believing he will get more. Time will tell. Will swap the SL500 out if I can find a nice enough SL60.

Good luck with finding another buyer.

What a well written description of the car.

Just looked at the photo of your garage. Why do you out pieces of cardboard under your wheels?

Also is your floor painted? What type of paint did you use? Is it good and robust?

Stops the paint gelling to the tyres and being pulled up.

Exactly right. The paint is very robust but soft Pirellis have a habit of bonding with the paint and pulling it up ;).

Thanks for the kind words about the advert, the car is currently still for sale but a gentleman from Southampton is making the right noises. Will hopefully find a good new home soon.

GLWS...these big lumpy exec wagons can take a while to sell so patience is the key. I know first hand!

Very nice car. Top money but a top car by the same token & only needs to find the right buyer. It only needs one if them.

Not being funny my friend but it didn't sell 7 months ago for £40k so a £500 reduction simply won't cut the mustard however good it is
