I have a GT 4.7 MC SHIFT and i just had the error "Check Transmission and Go to Dealer" has anyone else had this fault come up before and how did you fix it ? Is this a common problem ? The car goes into limp mode and you cant get into 3rd gear.

I had the big 2 year service only 2 weeks ago and nothing came up in connection with my transmission.

It sounds like you can start and drive but it gives the fault message when you are moving though the gears, is that right?

Bet it’s on restart after the car has already started and driven little.

In that case, what Matt said. Can you check your battery voltage? It might be failing even if it is new.

I had this, battery replacement, but it ended up being a transmission actuator. Once sorted by Marios it was fine, but it wasn't cheap.
Hope you get sorted.

Mine had the same thing and was diagnosed via the codes as the same actuator leaking seals. The new battery fixed it.

I think the park off error along with it that points to the battery.

I put the Ctek on over night and charged the battery and the error was still showing this morning, i put my diagnostics tool on the car and no error codes showing, i then erase all trouble codes even though there are none and then the transmission error is gone... cars back to normal ?

Your diagnostic machine is unlikely to be able to communicate with the TCU, unless you have something specifically capable of it.

Could just be a glitch. :)

I’ve seen MAF’s cause all sorts of weird errors on Alfa’s...it’s worth a try, costs nothing.

I did it by accident on my strad that’s how I know haha then looked into it for hours on different forums and soon as MAF unplugged and you turn car on throws a tranny fault

I had this on my GT last summer, turned out it was the alternator.

The car was charging at 13.7volts when it's first started. After a drive and once fully warmed up, the voltage droped to 11.7volts and wasn’t sustaining any extra load.

After replacing the alternator it was fine.

Attached was the warning lights that I kept getting and a screenshot what came out from the diagnostics machine.
