Clutch is 7.5k Dem on a Murci and on a Gallardo it is 5k that is what Lambo Manchester told me on the open day last year.

Are you guys making this up as you go along? A clutch for a Gallardo at Lambo Manchester is about £2600. A clutch for a murci is about £5000. You do realise that by coming out with this ill-informed nonsense you may put a potential buyer off buying a Lambo. Get real or at least back up your information with something credible.

All i am saying is what i have been told, i cant say a dealer is wrong if that is what i was told, and no need to throw your toys at the pram at me, at the end of the day, i am saying what a dealer has told me.

Peter, you are being a bit harsh. Sounds like the dealer was trying to impress with a few big numbers showing what an exotic car it was. I'm sure you could find someone to do the clutch for £5k if you wanted, maybe prices have dropped due to Indie competition now?

But the only person who knows for sure is an owner :)

Well...we all know for sure it aint gunna be cheap..........and as its a much more expensive car to buy than a GT lets say.....no reason not to assume its £3/4...even £5K to get replaced if some extras thrown in!

Secondly, if worrying about the price of clutch costs are a bit off putting then its a car beyond your means.

Sorry Peter, but Moderators should moderate, not rant. I appreciate you have strong feelings on the subject but your attitude comes across as being a bit hostile/ aggressive. I've got no axe to grind, it's just an observation.

Peter hi, i did say that everything i posted was a result of what the lamborghini dealer was telling my friend & I....
Yes it wasnt my car & i wasnt the owner but still i was there when he was quoting for these things & also heard & saw it myself so it is FACT, not an opinion thats made up, anyway it could easily have become cheaper know though as indies have staryed working on gallardos so main dealers price match, so im not disputing what your saying now but im saying what it cost him then.....
We all friends here, no need for anger, lets just agree to move on.....

Peter, I agree we should, but it does state 'for a limited period only'. How much would it be normally? As to the original point, all Marques have good and bad examples; perhaps you have a good one and Dems mate had a bad one. However, just because we haven't owned one shouldn't preclude us talking about them and relating other peoples experiences, both good and bad. Your experiences with the Marque, and comments you have made, may well be passed on to others by members of this forum under the heading 'I 'know' someone with one of those who said.....', and another owner may say 'that's rubbish' etc. There's no point in getting stressed about it, after all you own a Lamborghini!

Well said benny......
Look if i was on forums looking at gallardo reviews because i was going to buy one id like the disagreement & different price quotes as that will make me look into it more, so what we are doing is healthy for the gallardo not damaging....ill see if hes got an invoice still of the work & price & ill put it up but in the meantime your a lucky man, you have a sexy car nice one......

What i will say is that Adam spends more time at dealers of these type of cars than the sales men themselves and worked for a Supercar specialist so I would say he is well placed to comment........

Adams comments and knowledge of these cars is up there with the best of them......and most of us will repeat information we are told in good faith, if some of it is of a...."Who can PI55 the highest up the wall" nature....then thats merely reflective of what MDs, indies, owners, Maseratisti and wannabe buyers say from time to time.

Sure, some of it might not stand up to scrutiny....but the same applies to all the above listed in the above paragraph.

Thanks Andy and Frank.

Pete, the guy who told me the prices at Lambo Manchester was one of the salesman and a technician, i asked them both on separate occasions just to prove that they knew about the product/brand they were representing and they both said the same prices which i stated.

What i have noticed with Lambo Manchester is that they seem to be trying to not also be a dealer but an independent as well, there are not too many Lambo specialists around although there is one in the Manchester region so my thought is the dealer will want to try and match the price of the specialist to retain more business hence why Lambo Manc' are advertising Gallardo Cluthce's at a cut price. Dont forget, labour rates at Lambo Manc' will be in the region of £115-135 an hour, a specialist will charge around £55-65 an hour, so a clutch on a Murcielago is an engine out job, think of the hours it takes to remove and install an engine on a Murci' , at a dealer, you will be looking at around 3 hours work just for that maybe longer. Oh by the way, i also know someone personally who works at Lambo Manchester hence the fact i get invited to go now and again.
