agree with you have said there Dem, also the interior does not look the most desirable combination either. Be interesting to see how much parts are for these.

Doesn't look like it has deployed any airbags or shifted any geometry; may well have been hit whilst stationary?

I’d have thought modern Lambos would cope with higher mileage like Mazzers seems as how they are Audi managed/developed...

What colour would Sir like it?

the early lambos newton were not reliable, gearbox goes every 20k, cost 10k......
warranty for these are not available and going for the better more reliable audi input ones they are 2006 onwards and cost 80k....

i would like one in giallo with black like my friends one or pearl white.....

god they can be a money pit then. Murcielago must be 10X worse, i know the clutch on those things is about 6k.

The specialist i worked at used to look after an Orange '02 Murcielago, never left the workshop, always needed something doing, only had about 37k miles on it. Last time i was there, it needed a new fuel tank.

yeah, you dont see many for sale that have got more than 20-25k on. This one was the first one in the U.K, was in a sorry state though, needed a real good clean/detail and the interior had gone discoloured. (The seats were orange leather)

Just been reading this thread, bloody **** guys I have never come across so much I'll informed nonsense! No disrespect but most of everything on this thread is utter ****!

I have what you refer to as an early Lambo, it's now done 37000 miles, huge mileage according to you, amazingly(sarcasm) still on the same gearbox, my first clutch lasted 27000 miles (would have done more miles, but began squeaking, not slipping though), interestingly my old 4200 was on it's 3rd clutch by 18,000 miles.

ALL Gallardos have Audi input. The early ones (04-05). Only seem unreliable to the people who have never owned one. My 2005 Gallardo has been the most reliable car (touch wood) I have ever owned, I have done nearly 18,000 miles in it since I have owned it, and it still feels as solid as a rock.
My Maserati 4200 on the other hand, was the most unreliable car I ever owned, costing me about £7000 in the 6 months I owned it, but my Maser had special needs, and I will certainly not judge all Masers on the pile of dog **** that I owned!

Peter i guess its all about luck with the car!!
We all know the 4200 is reliable so for you to have all those issues was just unlucky,
My point on the gallardo was made as my friend had one, so its not an opinion made never owning one, i saw what he went through & lambo in reading actually told him to trade it in for an 06 model where that model was the more sorted one....

Now with the LP there are no big issues, my neighbour has one & he told me after 1 year of ownership nothing to report......

This is just it "My friend had one" seems to be the source of all the unreliable information. Big difference between my friend having one and you having one.

I know the 4200 is reliable in most cases, this is my point, just because mine was cack, doesn't mean that all 4200's are cack.

But c'mon, who ever told you that the Gallardo needed a new gearbox every few K miles, must be in cloud cookoo land!

My very good mate has a Porsche GT3 RS, I wouldn't judge his experiences as a concise judgment on the RS, that would be nuts!
I will only comment on cars I have owned and "MY" experiences.

Goes back to my ongoing point about 'facts' being shared about cars which are pure hearsay and the ever-present distance valuations based on no evidence or inspection of any of the vehicles being discussed.

On a more positive note, my 13 year old son is going to drive a Gallardo LP560 on a circuit on Saturday. I don't know who's more excited...!

When i say my friend had troubles i actually was involved....
I took him to the garages i listened & thats what im posting....a technician from lambo dealer said they need clutches every 10k esp the e gear and the pre 05 murcielago are a no go unless you have loads to throw on it....
Anyway i know that a car is different, not every car is the same & like you ive had probs with my 3200 but know people on here that have had no issues at all.....
It is all facts!! Just facts on a speciific car, not your car just his....

Excited bout your boy maf, nice one....wish i was him hahahaha

Dem is right about the pre 05 Murcielago, the specialist i worked at looks after an 02 Murcielago, first one in the UK, and to say it's a shed is an understatement oh and it is a money pit.

Thats all i was saying adam, the earlier ones are known for having few issues as most cars....
Got better as it went on but its not to say you cant get a good one from the early ones obviously.....how many times do we hear that 1998 or 1999 3200 were bad, i have one of the last ones and i found probs so that theory dont always stack up guys....talking bout a car in which i know is not hearsay its facts!!
My car had trouble fact!! Some 3200 from 1998 have no trouble fact!! My friends lambo was a dog with loads of probs fact!!
