CAR AUCTIONS

I guess that final figure is just under £20k with fees added. All depends on condition of course, but assuming it’s a decent car I’d say it’s seems like it should be somewhere between in the bottom half of the 20’s?
When was the last time a non category, or mega miles GT S went for less than 20k for example?
You have to like the grey/black combo too. Which is of course personal preference.

Yes it also has faults that require fixing, if they were simple they’d have been done. It’s also a private sale with zero comeback, and no chance (when on CC) of test drive, inspection etc. I’d suggest retail (probably after some spend) it might be worth around £24/25k.

Yes, I’m not so sure an auction is the best place for a car like this, no test drive/inspection etc.
If you can manage to get someone round to your house to have a look, start it up and drive it, it takes a cold hearted petrolhead to be able to walk away and not want it!

It does look expensive when compared to the one dicky had in recently at a similar price, but when you compare it to the other maserati results on collecting cars for 4.7 s models which from memory made about £18k it does seem a bit under.

I also find it hard to quantify the impact that miles actually have on the price. What’s a 40k vs 60k vs 70k car worth given similar spec and condition.

No idea….

What I found interesting is that even the bidders didn't even fancy a punt on it for £19k on the off chance that was the reserve.

It must be very disheartening for the seller to be wanting £26k for his car but the open market won't go above just £18.5k.

I do agree - what I've also observed is that the good condition GT S examples that are advertised at the right price, sell very quickly. I think he was asking £29k-ish originally and it's been on the market now for a while. With the price down to £26k it's closer to the ballpark based on today's market, but for that money it would need to be properly sorted.

I guess it comes down to how desperate the seller is, and how much someone wants this specific model.
There is an element of ‘find another’ with the sport GT S. Especially if someone wants a specific colour/spec, a certain mileage and perfect condition all for a bargain price, they may be waiting for ever, and will therefore never own one.

Everyone wants a bargain of course, that’s human nature, but if no-one is prepared to let a nice example go for under 20k and would rather keep it, what it bids up to is irrelevant. If someone really wants a grey one with black leather, those wheels etc then they should just buy it. If it’s just an ‘ok’ spec to them, would prefer green/tan or blue/cream then they are only going to bid lowish, because it’s not what they really want.

Sold pre auction it would seem. Never know with CC but that's what it says. I do like the boomerangs on the Rosso Mondiale.
It finally sold 10 July for 36k including fees!

Went and looked at this yesterday , stunning thing - should add it’s a converted saloon , not an original , body extremly good but some of the paint is off colour and it needs some further work - needing this I think the estimate is punchy
