Think getting that hard top roof to work properly again will be one of the harder parts of that repair.
Interestingly, was watching a program on tv about building the portofino the other day, they have a very complicated jig with lasers to align up everything so that it operates smoothly, can imagine it being a nightmare without.

I’m no expert but I would have thought to get that back to tip top shape would be ‘tricky’ :too_sad:
nah a doddle, nothing a bit of black gaffa tape and t cut wouldn't sort out

Just been through the picks again in HD zoom , and i'd say 90% the roof mech is untouched , even think the nearside rear quarter panel is good and untouched ( i think its shadow) rear panel and boot floorpan rear lights and bumper and front offside h/light and front bumper , 60 minute inpsection would give you the full list of parts

Rear panel and Boot thank god have taken the best part of the inpact , and done what there meant to do and crumpled , you neve know unless you look , ones that look really easy obviously go for higher prices

Autolign in Northampton , and there inspection and subsequent report sometimes is enough for the Cat to be erased from the HPI register or it used to be the case

Not entirely surprised. It seems like they've been trying to flog this 1994 Ferrari 456 since about 1992.

You can't flog dead horses that long and expect to stay in the race.

What was wrong with that one? black/black Colour is not my preference but always loved the shape.

Well, that's a good thing, because it was not originally black. I've seen the service history and other paperwork....and I would not go near this car.

Furthermore - there are some 'more than competitively priced' 456 manuals on offer at present. I recall a few forum members saying that they were interested in a 456, and I would have thought their interest would be piqued by either of these two;

https://www.carandclassic.co.uk/car/C1221171 - H&H Classic auctions in 2 days - est 24-26K (seems way undervalued to me)
https://www.carandclassic.co.uk/car/C1104897 - Arun - $39K

I appreciate this may sound strange - but is dealer liquidity / balance sheet / financial viability an issue if / when looking to buy a car like this at present? If indeed some dealers are possibly rolling over you'd hate to shell out this coin and find out your money disappeared into a parallel universe...

A cat D 456 (but nice looking with good history) just sold for £25k on collectingcars
Wow - so it did. Clearly the market is already dropping on these cars (presumably others too). In saying that;

This car is an auto, still has issues (declared issues presumably hidden ones too) and will attract a buyer's premium (not huge - but still, makes the car 26,500)

It may be good value for someone..I'd only be going manual if I were to consider an older Fezza V12 (400/412/456) etc.

Maybe Justin Banks will see fit to drop the price of his two by 30-40%? (That's a bit cheeky, they already look reasonably priced)

Thanks for the steer. The H & H 456 looks like a deliberate low estimate to increase interest.
Same as post ^^ my preference would be manual car, with good history and less concerned about total miles.

JBs 550 looks an interesting proposition. About 25% cheaper than another identical car, colour wise anyway with half the miles. Assuming s through an inspection ok that would be nice to drive.
The problem will be trying to sell a 120k mile ferrari in due course.

cant do bugger all now with the bloomin weather, so trawling the interweb, came across this and always had a hankering for a Sebring (modern day Healey) if I didn't have the giulietta project would have seriously thought of bidding on this, seems tidy and not much work needed to complete

Benefit of the doubt there Loz; I think it is meant to have the hood trim up to it...
