Referenda aren't binding, and for the UK they are largely meaningless opinion polls, this one being captured at at time when UKIP where making waves riding a crest of some unfounded immigration backlash.

UK is not a direct democracy, it is a parliamentary (aka representative) one, a very important distinction.

The future of 65m people can't be decided on a whim which is what the referendum was, surely you must see that?

Apparently in 2018 there were 66 Acts passed, and in 2017 there were 48 (compared with - very few of which were about Brexit. (Compared with, eg, 72 in 2014 and 55 in 1998.) In total there were 2,057 bits of legislation issued 2018. Actually, I am rather alarmed to learn how much the legislature has been doing!
