I like Benny in person and sober(!) but i do tend to just skim his posts especially when the swear filter has been in action.

I can see why some people are offended by them.

I think back to when I met Benny. I walked into the hotel in Modena and asked “Is this the SportsMaserati group”. He said “No, **** off”. Then I think about a lay-by on the Route Napoleon. There he just said “**** off” and really meant it. Or the time his nuts fell off, there was quite a lot of swearing then.

He will help anyone and is a great laugh on a night out, with very funny stories. I do wince when people that don’t know him or are new on the forum get caught in the crosshairs as they haven’t been around long enough know what to do. Which is of course to ignore it or respond in kind and tell him to **** off.

I didn’t know he liked chavball, for ***** sake I’m off again.

Joking aside I don’t have him on ignore. I’ve learnt that although he may say things that are offensive I think he’s without malice. Which is quite different to much of the internet. They’re isn’t a single person who posts here who’d I’d be worried about meeting in real life.

My 2p is that he is an acquired taste like marmite. Personally I scan read most of his posts, there is an occasional nugget of wisdom or some term of abuse I've never heard before. It is easy to tell when his wendyball team have lost and/or he is drunk and posting. His range of expletives is very limited and their use far too frequent and unnecessary. I wouldn't want to see this place without him (apart from the occasional time in the cooler) and will always consider him a good and genuine friend.

Absolute petrol head who has a nice collection of interesting cars and motorcycles and can pedal them too.
A lot nicer in person than on the net for sure :)
