The best thing I’ve bought at a car boot was a 20p Taittinger branded pair of pliers/tongs for removing champagne corks. No home bar should be without one! I do enjoy poking around at the old “car boot” and listening to other people’s conversations as they haggle over 10p. Very entertaining.

Removing them from where..? I'd suggest one should be more careful where one inserts them if specialist tools are required for removal.

I was watching sky news this morning and the couple of hundred people stood on a bridge looking at a stranded whale obviously weren’t worried. Barely a face mask in sight and stood shoulder to shoulder. Beggars belief.

Grab a coffee, this is a good read.

Good article Wattie, and read a similar back in early 2020 , the French contractors who were responsible for installing the security procedures inside the WIV lab terminated their contract early because of cost implementations reasoned that important safety factors were being omitted to complete the opening schedule on time .............basically they wanted no part of it to tarnish their good name, rightly so

I’ve cast an eye over this fossil thing and am somewhat perturbed that it appears to be an early prehistoric prototype for “lovehoney.com”.

I would not be hanging that on my wall particularly if participation in “zoom” calls is a daily occurrence.

Pfizer has asked UK regulators to approve its coronavirus vaccine for use in people aged 12 to 15, after US authorities granted emergency use of the jab among teenagers earlier in the week

Professor Anthony Harnden, deputy chair of the JCVI questioned the ethical basis of rolling out the drug to teenagers.

“The overwhelming majority of children and young people don’t seem to suffer severe effects from Covid,” Although there is a minority that get very sick, the vast, vast, majority don’t.“You would be vaccinating a group of children essentially to prevent illness in the community, so you’d have to be absolutely sure of the safety of these vaccines in children.”

Pfizer has said it expects to have safety and efficacy data on the vaccine for children aged 2 to 11 in September.

If Pfizer gets approved in the Uk before any of this safety data (and this is only short term data in 2-11 year olds ffs - A group that does not need vaccinated!) it will be outrageous as effectively they will be experimenting on UK kids......on an even bigger scale than they already are.

Government seems to be very nervous about the variants from India, hinting that it could impact the roadmap out of this pandemic.

Realy hope it’s sensationalist reporting and overreaction.
