Sadly my colleagues worked at the end of the front line if you get my drift, so have seen the real world affect of this virus. They could all write books on the literally hundreds of stories of the impact on lives that they have heard and seen first hand.

This virus has killed the brave the stupid as well as the old and infirm and is still doing so.

I will be having the jab when and if it’s offered.
I can't get the jab quick enough. It'll be a long time - I'm nowhere near an at-risk group (unless there's something I don't know) – but I want to get out there, travel the world for business and pleasure, live.
We could die at any moment – virus or not. Perhaps more of a corollary with a potential 'bad vaccine' - there are innumerable ways in which long health problems can start. Poor diet, living conditions, alcoholism, smoking, just pure ******* luck – and it is the latter that is the key factor in the short time frame we have in the world. Get out and live it, as much as you can, because you only have one life.
If a vaccine helps me do that, then so be it.

Yup.
A lot of people stand to make a lot of money over this. It’s not in their interests to down play the disease.

You can see this affect with the disparity of views over the safety of the Uk release by the Americans. You’d think they’d be jubilant, but oh no....questions on the shortcuts and procedures followed are all expressed to down play the launch and the headstart.

The facts are- 96% + worldwide have so far survived this and no vaccine manufacturer has proved theirs makes a dramatic difference, short, medium or long term- or that they are safe long term.

However, they all want immunity from liability.

Well I hear all the arguments but TBH I'll take my chances with the vaccine. The alternative is in my view untennable....

A friend of my wife's, 9 stone all her life , doesn't smoke or drink to excess , eats healthily, bleed on the brain , been in hospital 4 months , might never walk again 56 years old

The only thing I'm concerned about my wife caught a virus in 2013 and ended up with guillian barre syndrome which left her with a paralysed face on one side , she was in hospital for months totally paralysed so whether vaccinating her is a good idea I don't know

Sorry, I meant after 6 today and going forward, so I’m right, they can still open and sell food, but without alcohol......
That’s just nuts, so, the Welsh gov are basically saying if you have meals with drinks people can’t be trusted to be responsible so they will just be denied, unless they buy it too take away.
Barmy.

You’ve hit the nail on the head there Nayf. I’m coming into the 3rd year of retirement at 57 and have missed the freedom to travel. Hopefully I’ve got loads of time to do the things I want to do but who knows. I lost my sister 20 years ago and my brother this year, both younger than me so if taking a vaccine let’s me get on with my plans then bring it on.

Yes. Was discussing this with Mrs C in a coffee shop earlier. Makes no sense to me, other than in a puritanical sense. Finished your meal in England? **** off, no liqueurs for you. WTAF?

If you want to limit the amount of time people spend in a place, then put a 2 hour dinner limit. Not like there's not restaurants that do that already. If you want to stop people drinking, do the Welsh thing. The English one just seems illogical. <shrug>

Pubs and drinkers are getting around these rules by providing a plate of chips with drinks.
And as long as there are a few chips left on the plate they can keep drinking.
I think pubs should link up with kebab shops. Order a kebab when they get in there and get it delivered just before they leave.

No rules broken.

Agreed, my daughter who is dealing with +ve Covid patients on a regular basis already has a confirmed appointment for a vaccination at her hospital early next week. She has said that at least it will stop her feeling like the potential grim reaper every time she finishes a 12 hour shift. She is more concerned about catching It at work and taking it home to family and others. So a lot of people will have the vaccination not just to protect themselves, but to protect others as well. Mind you, living in Wales right now she hasn’t a lot else to do unless she wants to go to the pub for a coffee, before 6 Pm !.

We’ve just been out for dinner, our “slot” was 6:00-7:30, so how people are getting away with what GC said beggars belief.. we’re fed and watered, had a bit of social interaction “ in same room as other people” and feel all the better for it. I’m not a sociable person and even I’m missing being round other people, a little bit..
