Has anyone else heard this sounds Crazy to me but with the current state of affairs anything could happen.

An associate of mine who is a Aircraft technician and works on contracts has been approached via a recruitment company on LinkedIn to convert Antarctica research aircraft for spraying ???? over highly infected areas in the UK sounds quite scary to me and we need BoJo to tell us what's going on.

There is no way I can disagree with what you have just said, you are correct. But surely if people had just acted that little bit more responsibly, then the levels would not have risen to the extent they have done, and subsequently given the powers that be the justification to introduce these additional measures, then the small businesses would Possibly still be open today, not in lockdown. We can all do our bit by acting responsibly and thinking about the potential consequences whether it is with regard to others or business.

If we treated it as a very bad kind of flu, no lock-downs would have been necessary. If you get the flu you, generally, don’t go bleating to the hospital you stay at home and either recover, or die. If we had done that at the start the country wouldn’t have been fcked for years, and decades, to come. If you feel that worried by it, self isolate at home and if you don’t, you carry on as normal. When 65,000 are declared dead through Covid, that’s only 0.1% of the population so why fck everything up for the 99.9%? If I was given winning odds of 99.9%, I’d take a punt on anything.

Well there you go then, it’s not all gloom and doom, there’s potentially a new job there for someone.

Isn't the issue that if left to freely circulate and everyone caught it, the number of deaths would be much more than 0.1%?

But surely that's what's going to happen eventually , sure the government will spend a lot of money on trying to develop a vaccine , a lot of people will get rich but it won't happen any time soon, if at all so the spread will continue

Isn't all this lockdown just about the NHS, trying to slow the spread so those with a chance to survive get given that chance

Well almost
I thought the whole point was not to over run the hospitals and have people expiring in remote cold corridors

Sounds great in practice. Seems to just mean they expire at home. Marginally preferable I guess

Yes indeed. The fatality rate is greater than 0.1% I believe so potentially the death rate in the UK could be 1 million +

Any stats to back that up? As ever, I'm curious

Sorry quick edit: I assumed you'd said 1% not 0.1% so yes, it's greater than 0.1% Not sure anyone is claiming it's that low.

Of course, how much greater is not really known as we don't know how many people have had it.......

By Imperial's figures: manylots
By King's figures: some

Apparently, the average age of death due to Covid is somewhere in the high 70s, the BBC said it was as high as 82. As the average expectancy is 81 I can’t see a problem with letting the virus takes its course. Call me hard-hearted if you want, but surely bankrupting the country just isn’t worth it even if 650,000 (1%) died. If I’m one of the 650,000, so be it.

It may not be PC but there is an element of realism in your post. We can’t all live to be 100.
The world must go on and that means some people die and others do not - I feel for anyone who has lost loved ones, this is a gruesome fact of life.
If the world stops and waits for this virus to be cured or eradicated - what do we do on the next one? What do our children do and our children’s children?
The world needs to get on or it will be the end of humanity as we now it.
Some say if we carry on in the way we have it will be the end anyway, global warming, nuclear armeagedon whatever......

Nobody knows how many have it because some have symptoms that mild they don't even report it , however it doesn't look good if it's 2x3x4x the reported figure and only 300 a day are dying and not all of them of covid , they just have it when they die

It's like nobody knows what to do so we'll just stay on course so it looks like we're doing something
