This is what you disbelievers have to look forward to........Italy TODAY

Whilst I understand your sentiment Phil I think your message is slightly wrong, it’s not about disbelieving. What’s happening is almost incredulous, buts it’s happening.
As the WHO have said, “there’s a small time window to act or it will get messy”
It’s about choices.

Thanks for sharing that, Mike. No idea who he is, but makes a cogent and well balanced (IMHO) view of the situation.

I've subscribed to his channel

C
I'm hugely suspicious of anything online that doesn't come from a source that I'd have some degree of trust in.
I Googled this guy, until I was fairly satisfied. I also checked early on, that what he was saying, corresponded to
what professors of infectious diseases from places like The London School of Tropical Medicine were saying.
He has a PhD and is not a medical doctor. But, he teaches nurses and does shifts in local NHS casualty departments
as some kind of nurse practitioner or department manager or similar. I don’t know the specifics.
In all of his vids on YT, he's been on the conservative side of commentary and relied only on official sources of information.
He's gone to great lengths to explain in minute detail, how the virus is progressing.
In all his hours of content, I've not detected anything to be wary of. No agendas, other than to tell the truth as he understands it.
It's because of this, that I've suggested that my closest friends and family use his information as part of deciding what to do and when.
Given what this guy has said, what the WHO has said in the last 24hrs and given that our own government is saying nothing or very little, I've started to do what Wattie's been doing, today. The best way to avoid this virus seems to be to self quarantine. So thats what I'm preparing for, in case it becomes necessary.

This all sounds perfectly sensible. For my part, I'm cutting back on travel (I've actually stopped overseas travel) and reduced the amount of time I spend in London. As I live in a small rural village my working assumption is that I'm less likely to become infected here than in a large city which hosts many people from all across the world. But I haven't bought swimming goggles and promise not to barbecue my neighbours' dog. The local squirrels and rooks, on the other hand, are definitely at risk.

Gents, we’re a diverse crowd with different backgrounds and opinions.

Whilst I respect the opinions of others, I’ll take decisions that I feel happy with. It may not be in accordance with those more learned.
In the same way they have ignored my advice.....more learned too.
No grudge, fair enough.
This situation is unique.
Look at what’s happening, what you feel in your gut...or what your instinct tells you.
Whatever you decide, be prepared to re-evaluate as this situation will change.
look at what you value and do the thing that is correct in your opinion.

Let’s support each other regardles

I just cancelled a trip to Birmingham for the Who concert on 1st April.
Got to the "buy now" page of ticketmaster, then thought, you know what, let's see how this pans out over the next couple of weeks.
This deal is fast moving at the moment.

Cool,
So today in addition to shopping trolley heaven (repeated tomorrow) we
  1. Upgraded the home safe. ( I’ll provide the model on thurs when it’s bolted in).
  2. Withdrew the excess funds from the bank, yup we had excess just sat there. It will be installed in the above.
3 took steps to try to educate family ( sister);and special friends about the action we’d taken and why. Be prepared for looney tunes looks.
4 discussed with 3 above how to tackle the situation with widow (Mum) who isn’t prepared for such a scenario is order to make her aware of what she may need to do if she stays in UK.

What's your worst-case scenario, Wattie?

Getting me thinking a bit now Wattie.
I still have funds in NZ and they are totally in bed with the Chinese.
I know you won't be chuffed with me putting it in to Euro's but that's what I'm going to need here in France.

What's your worst-case scenario, Wattie?
Already experiencing that Fc, will never have a car like an Mc again.....anyway beside that,

Worst case.
Ours is an unusual situation....adapt to fit yours. Here are some, not all...
Make of it what you will.
We don’t go out to work, kinda semi/retired and comfortable. +ve we can avoid interaction.
We live on top floor and subject to supplies don’t have to leave....hence a new freezer arriving.

We spend our day leisurely at home/ gym and in my case gathering knowledge.
Preparing.

-ve,we have the most precious thing in our lives at school, prep. We’ll never risk that as it would devastate us beyond repair.
We have a lot of assets to protect and a bank account isn’t an option. It can be seized.
If elec packs and lifts fail its a long walk down and up again......not many would take the trouble.

Worst case, been saying it for weeks.
This isn’t a normal virus, so many locked down for so few deaths?
50000, in Italy for how many? More would have died from accidents, heart attacks etc

My feeling is they:
Are covering the severity up- telling the truth would cause a panic.

The financial system that is already “fake” will fail and life as you know it will collapse as a result. Millions destitute (potentially sick). The financial systems failed years ago...covered up by trillions out of thin air....bankers didn’t think a health situation would ever unveil what’s going on. Covid19 if unchecked will do exactly that!

Few realise this Maseratigent, Froddy do.

Get your money out of banks.
Prepare for your family and a hunker down
True story- we have a friend in Brisvegas selling real estate, she has been off work for a week on “lock down” as a colleague came back from a cruise and infected the whole office. Last tues she though she was dying and almost went to hospital.....she didn’t.
We asked if she had been tested for covid-19 and she said no. The Dr told her she had influenza A and therefore couldn’t catch covid.
Seems we’ve found a cure for covid19, just give everyone a dose of Flu A, wtf!

They are covering this up.

No mate I agree get out of Aud, nzd....but not Euro- unless you need funds ASAP.
Buy Usd $ as it will appreciate against Eur and then convert back in a few months once Italy has collapsed.....

So I'm clear - you're saying hold on EUR? You reckon that converting from EUR to GBP / USD will be better in a few months than now, or exactly the opposite?

If you are only referring to flu, then vaccination comes to mind. Last year in England 25,000,000 free vaccinations were on offer. I think that is preparation, vaccination for other things obviously take much longer to develop, but you just mentioned flu.
