Today we bought three months worth of shopping we would normally buy - in one day.
Preparing for the unthinkable, not panicking.
Wonder how many Italians wish they’d done the same and now find shelves empty. We will add to this over the next few days.

Meanwhile Chinese banks have apparently been told to apply “loan default forgiveness” to those who have missed mortgage/loan repayments.
Sounds reasonable, until you think that China could be locked down for another 4-6months and
what are the banks/Govt gonna do if 800,000,000 Chinese (or even just those left alive) say feck you and never ever pay again......

I'm with you Wattie. Already bought my masks, while they are still available. You try buying one in Northern Italy now, NONE available anywhere.
I also have done a massive shop, mainly tinned food or food that fits in freezer. Look at pictures on the internet, the supermarkets in Italy are fast running out of food.
When the disbelievers on here finally get round to sorting things out, it will be too late and they will, well basically just have to go hungry or eat stuff they don't like!

My thoughts.
This is where Europe will show it's worth in sticking together and look after a member state.
Food will be brought in for Italy.
I can't believe people will suffer unnecessary if that happens then we really have a problem.

We got back from Milan on Friday after a few nights at Como. Family members are saying we should stay away and the Mrs called her school saying she had been to Italy (Lombardy) but they said if she hadn't visited one of the quarantined towns she should come in. The scary part of this virus is the incubation/dormancy time which in some cases has been 30 days.... This could be almost everywhere in Europe/World in another two weeks imo.

Italy after 3 days.....

You can watch the brass band
Or get a life jacket for your family.

I’ve just ordered an extra freezer, delivered tomorrow. $500 , reduced from $799. We will fill it to the top. What’s the worst that can happen?
In 3 months i flog it after eating all the food....and sell it......
Or.

Ps did I mention Gold as a deposit alternative?

This is what you disbelievers have to look forward to........Italy TODAY

I don't think anyone said no one would panic. People love a bit of panic. We've got two freezers filled with food, but as far as I can tell we generally have. God knows what it all is, but it should keep us going for a few days. Failing that, next door's dog's in trouble.

I think we need to stop the ‘panic’ talk.
Although I’ve never met a single soul (with the exception of Dicky Grace) on this forum I have a genuine regard for everyone I interact with.
This is a rare and extreme situation. How you decide to address it could have huge repercussions. Keep an open mind on what’s happening and think how you could protect your family if the worst case happens.
Prepare to protect....if you feel the need.

This British doctor has been commenting on the progress of the virus for a few weeks now.
Generally posting an update daily.
I believe he is the most responsible and thorough source available to us, without an agenda.
He presents and latterly interprets the information as it becomes available.
As Wattie said above. I haven't met any of you, but I do have a genuine regard for most people on
the forum. So, I'm putting this in front of you as an FYI.
What you do with it, is of course, up to you :)
