At 54 in the affluent Southeast of England - almost on London but not quite, just inside the M25 I have been told I am in group 9 and they (local authority) are only up to group 4

so I reckon 2022 is I safe bet

meanwhile some colleagues and friends have all had theirs- younger and living elsewhere

I’ve had Covid - if wasn’t nice, I consider myself lucky to have been working full time for an employer who has made significant cuts in staff and salary

good luck to us all - let’s get the country back on its feet

Mr R-R got his jab invitation letter yesterday. He went on line to book a suitable venue/date/time for both the first and second. It took 4 attempts as computer kept saying, once he'd completed everything, 'appointment not available'! Success eventually when he went for the second at the same venue/time and day but 10 weeks later.

The Independent Parliamentary Standards Authority (IPSA) had stated that MPs should receive a £3,360 pay rise this year. They are paid £81,932 per year and have enjoyed a pay rise in each of the last six years despite the governments decision to only award 1% to those working for the government on less than 24k, inc Nurses, Police etc

Thankfully they reversed this pay rise at the back end of 2020 as a result of the pandemic.

It is of course repugnant that MPs got a 6% pay rise a couple of years ago to compensate for having to pay more into their pensions... all other public body staff who had the same changes imposed received nothing.

On this I agree 100%. There is a challenge that MPs are not paid anything like enough to attract decent talent from the private sector (although their salary tells nothing like the whole story)

And as for the expenses system!

There's money left cos NHS staff are only getting 1%, the government is disgraceful, it really is.....
Yep. Tell that to all the squaddies that have been running around deserts for 10
Years, bailed out fire strikes before then and all over the country now with covid. Been there, got the t shirt. The government of the day were reprehensible too.

My eldest (34) gets her first jab next Weds, she's in group 6 because of bad Asthma, that's a relief.
I heard at lunchtime on Radio 2 that people with asthma were being refused to jab.
I just don't understand the logic!

Got a date today for my jab, in two weeks time. As my wife is the same age as me, and no difference medically, I phoned to ask if she could possibly be booked in at the same time, as she didn’t get an appointment. I was told no, that the appointments were computer generated, that they could not add extra names because they were short of vaccine. That’s Wales, maybe different in England.
