Funny one innit.
We’ve had very few cases over here- hence the lack of urgency re “vaccination”. Why get vaccinated for something that isn’t here?
Whether that hinders Australia’s return to global normality remains to be seen......-
Last I heard, politicians over here were insisting that everyone isolate for 14 days on entry to Oz......vaccinated or not.
That’s a spanner in the works as I for 1 wouldn’t bother coming under that criteria.
Presumably Australia has a minimal income from tourism, so it won’t matter if no one goes on holiday there for the next 10 years. What was that advertising campaign “Where the bloody **** are you?” I’ve decided not to post what my reply would be!

Had the letter today, so logged on, now I know there are vaccination centres within 10 miles of me, but they said closest was 21 miles as crow flies, will actually translate to an hour each way, so I will keep trying until something closer comes up, not overly worried as I'm still protected having had it. (in theory)
Three Counties Showground in Malvern has just opened up as a mass vaccination centre and when thoroughly up and running could cope with up to 3000 vaccines a day! - they will be inviting people within a catchment area of a 45min drive.

Oh it’ll matter alright but if politicians keep closing down the economy every time someone tests +ve - it ain’t gonna change.
Personally I’m quite happy with the approach, life is normal, I have no desire to travel anywhere else in the world just now (to catch it) and I have no job at risk.
Apparently printing money from thin air is the economic solution.
Brilliant. Well done.

I've got my first one on Friday now - missed the first appointment due to a catastrophe at work.

Then I'm off to Lux so I dunno how I'm gonna get my second jab in 12 weeks

Hasn't Oz had quarantine since March because of dirty foreigners? I (Kiwi) cancelled my holiday last March because my 2 weeks in Oz meant I would be stuck in a hotel? My brother hasn't been able to see his Ozzie kids in Melbourne since March because of COVID.
I'd have no problem going to Oz now, 14 day quarantine or otherwise, now that I've had the vaccine. It knocked me for a six but I don't want to spend the rest of my life stuck in one place.

Indeed it has- mandatory quarantine for all in hotels (unless you’re a celebrity).
The Oz/Nz corridor keeps getting cancelled with each outbreak.

Seems to be an echo in here from the Are you worried yet? thread......

Booked in. I thought you had to be contacted.

You are supposed to wait to be contacted (in the UK) but it seems to be possible to just book anyway. Some people have reported being turned away on the day, if they were not the right age for the current cohort being jabbed. So probably ok in March if you are 60+, but you might be turned away if you were 30.

You can book if you meet the criteria. If you don't the website won't let you.

Of course, you can lie.

I did see a video clip from the US where two women had disguised themselves as old women to get their jabs... were caught when they went for the second one.

Friend got his because a friend of his was helping out. They had so many left over where people had not bothered to attend their appointment that they were just ringing friends and family. If you get here before we close you can have the jab basically.

The vaccine centre I am volunteering at, calls the local police first to use up spares, then the volunteers. Not sure they have gone as far as friends and family, but better that than them going to waste.
Amazing people don’t turn up.

A local MP called one of my 'offices' where there is an outbreak. He asked if we could tell our staff not to go to the local supermarkets to prevent spread... some people!
