Day after jab and aches, pains, headache, arm ache, general mehness. Apparently my already pale visage is almost opaque.
Still it will be worth it.

Also, this bundle of skin and elbows is keeping me company. Looks cute, but managed to catch and kill a rabbit this morning.

True. And how much did any of the others give them, historically? Genuine question BTW

Not sure about nurses, SWMBO is a medical secretary, her pay rises over the last 3 years equate to just under 20% from when she started. Part of that is time related and having a grade increase.

But that was under a Tory government.

Yep...for balance...I don’t vote
2020.... looks like nurses had 4.4% last year...

Yep. I was only asking because I don't recall any other party, when they were in power, saying: Here! 15% rise for NHS staff.

Probably not a lot, but not many have been in power when the NHS were needed through a pandemic, and when they did as much as this time.

I don't mind paying when I know where it is going at to who. Where did Captain Toms money go again?

Oh I agree. The problem with that is what one thinks is good spending is anathema to others.

But even so, I really don't think that any party is in much of a position to paint any currents as doing much different when it comes to the NHS. It's a huge organisation and the tax required to give a decent pay rise (say 5% or should it be more) is pretty vast. I think.

As ever, very happy to be educated.

NHS needs to look at waste and vfm too.
For instance,
The psychologist where my missus works is on £85 p/hour(staff). The consultant psychologist is on a lot more. He refuses to drive to see clients,so, when he has a clinic in Scarborough, it’s a taxi from the office in Northallerton to train station, train to York, change at York to Scarborough, taxi to hospital/ clinic venue. So he can spend 6 hours travelling....for 2/3 patients
Some of the things she tells me about how the office/ departments are run beggars belief,
But I guess it’s a behemoth that is hard to fix...

it's like that at IBM where I'm at at the moment - on Slack all day discussing Portuguese food (we seem to have a lot from PT)...

Had AstraZeneca jab yesterday. I’m 60 but have had no symptoms
Was speaking to an old guy out walking on the hills today. Had the same yesterday but no symptoms also. It’s all very random, well until someone works it out.

They are seriously stepping up at the Three Counties Showground centre - they've got 130 volunteers on their list and for the 2 weeks from next Monday (15th) they need to find volunteers for 224 slots (16 people per shift and 28 6 hour shifts) ........ If I get called up that will be a nice and essential little run (weather permitting) for my beloved.

Over 55's now in my part of the world so hope long not before I get called up
Eb
No need to wait to be called up for anyone who is 56 or over now. Go onto the NHS vaccination site and you can book even if no call up/letter/text received. I've got both my jabs booked.

If not that age yet I'd just keep an eye on the site for when the age number changes. No need to wait to be asked.
