Monday week for my first one. Toni had hers just over two weeks ago. Apart from a sore arm, no ill effects immediately after, but the last couple of days has had hives and itchy skin. She hasn‘t been out of the house since, so not likely to have picked up anything from elsewhere and much the same for me as we‘re both working from home.

There's money left cos NHS staff are only getting 1%, the government is disgraceful, it really is.....
Just vote them out, it's not hard.
True. And how much did any of the others give them, historically? Genuine question BTW

And do the military get a pay rise if and when they have to go to war?

Some might just say its the their job.

It's just a sad fact that those that work the hardest get paid the least.
I'm not suggesting it's right, or that the nurses shouldn't get more, just saying.

And pretty certain other parties wouldn't do it any differently IF they were actually in power.

NHS needs to look at waste and vfm too.
For instance,
The psychologist where my missus works is on £85 p/hour(staff). The consultant psychologist is on a lot more. He refuses to drive to see clients,so, when he has a clinic in Scarborough, it’s a taxi from the office in Northallerton to train station, train to York, change at York to Scarborough, taxi to hospital/ clinic venue. So he can spend 6 hours travelling....for 2/3 patients
Some of the things she tells me about how the office/ departments are run beggars belief,
But I guess it’s a behemoth that is hard to fix...

The money spent and wasted in inflated prices and costs etc in most public organisations is criminal.

Certainly not having the vaccine this year. Maybe next once we know more. Thankfully, I’m not in an ‘at risk’ group so will bide my time.

Well actually back in my day in the Fleet Air Arm in the 80’s we did get a daily “increment” for each day in a recognised conflict zone during hostilities. I got this in the Falklands and then later on the Armilla patrol in the Gulf during the Iran/Iraq war.

Having said that, I’m supportive of the 1% which is above inflation and in the context of many in the private sector losing their jobs and/or business it’s not a bad outcome. Add to that the fact that public sector also benefit from very generous annual leave and final salary pension and that all these extra hours the nurses worked are paid as overtime, then I’m not saying they haven’t had it tough, but they have been fairly compensated IMO

Actually, those people in the Army who deployed to the gulf actually lost money. As they had their local overseas allowance taken off them. I didn’t get any increments for being in 1st gulf or Bosnia that I can remember.

Myself and Mrs1963 are booked in for March 26th and another one in June. When we went online to book it there where no slots locally the nearest is York about an hours drive away. Booked in York and get a nice drive out as a bonus.

It is odd how people on a car forum are moaning about not being able to go for a drive, unless they get given the excuse to go for a drive to get a vaccination ;)

Getting back to the jab, I have mine tomorrow! Please note, I am not in the over 55’s old B’Stard category yet.
Getting mine tomorrow as well and I'm not in the over 55 (by 5 months!) old B'stard category either. Got called by my GP to go in.

Booked in for next week. Was staggered that one of my tender years should be invited, but what the h3ll. I'm in.

What did pish me off was that I wasn't offered a vaccination centre many miles of twisting country roads away. Right bloody irked me, that did. Wankers.
