Tim would it not be the same as a BMW part as the same gearbox used ?

If we can confirm, let me know

Hey Guys,

I am not sure, how would I find out?

I just sent Scuderia Parts an enquiry and they reckon 240 Pound to get one shipped to Australia. Having said that, the Maserati Dealership want $561 AUD for the rubber join.....Nothing is cheap on these things!

Anyone know how much the BMW part is? Would it be worth simply risking one and trying it?

I am about to order new front and rear discs for my gransport. Other than asking for Ferrari 550 maranello discs is there anything else I need to stipulate to ensure I get the correct ones?

Also when ordering pads for this set up, should I be ordering them for a Ferrari f550 or for the maserati gransport?

Are the ferodo ds2500 still highly acclaimed and if so who is the cheapest supplier?

Cheers

In this country, Opie Oils do us a discount so it probably the best deal, enter the forum url at checkout I think.

I would stick with known brands, Brembo, Ferodo, Pagid, OEM BMW/ & Porsche and steer clear of EBC, Apec and all the cheap rubbish on Ebay, its just not worth it.

My personal choice would be the Ferodos...as they own Brembo.

I love the Red Stuff pads that were put on my 3200 last month, so so much better than the standard pads...

I've Ferodo 2500s on mine and I'm thinking of changing them for EBC yellows instead. I'm really impressed with them on my BM.

Precisely! I use my spyder and BM quite hard so I appreciate track orientated pads. I have found the yellows to have really good bite from cold and, because of that, I am happy to use them as everyday pads. Yellows were recommended by EBC when I told them how I drove.

I had EBC reds on my 3200 and it turned the car into a death trap, no word of a lie.

Coming up to roundabouts after the pads cooled down on a long blast, I literally when straight across without stopping, put up with it for a week then changed them for the cheapest Ferodos, £50 for all 4 axles and they were fantastic.

In defence, I do know EBC did change the compound of their pads after numerous incidents, but for me, to release pads like that onto the market...I will never trust them again.

I was not alone in my findings, many members on here have told me of exactly the same issues.

I appreciate your concerns and lack of confidence but I can thoroughly recommend the latest compound. The yellows are really very good and I will, in all probability, put them on the front of the spyder as I've already got them on the rear.

Bloody **** guys, i was hoping it would be a simple choice!!!
Well at least it seems to be a choice out of only two (i don't track the car nor drive it like fangio), so either the redstuff or the ferodos. As i am having trouble finding the latter I will probably go with redstuff.

BUT, do I order for a gransport or for an f550 if I'm going to use550 discs?

Ferodos are virtually impossible to find recently. I have EBC's on the back with no issues.

George, order for a GS or 4200. No idea if the calipers are the same on the 550

George, as Catman says order for the GS/4200. The discs are GS/4200 but we have to call them f550s in order to buy them direct fom Brembo rather than get them, very expensively, from Maserati.

Gotcha guys. Many thanks. Now just waiting on some shipping costs from a couple of suppliers before I order.

George,
I would say EBC reds, or yellow's are great, also Pagid and loads say the Ferodo's are great.,!! Ask for the pads to fit a Maserati GS, the discs are for a Ferrari 550, same but a lot cheaper..!! You could try www.apbrakediscs.co.uk they have decent prices and they will ship..!! Mention the Sports Maserati Forum..!!

For the MAF, you can use this: Vauxhall MAF Bosch 0281002180, it is the cheapest one I found with the F00C2G2030 insert sensor (that is a replacement for the original F00C2G2044 in our housing) , it is 126 USD shipped from the Ebay shop in Latvia (user: start245).

When you receive it, unscrew the sensor with a Ts25 tamper proof torx 5 points bit, screw it in your housing and you are done. Maybe you can even try to resell on ebay the brand new useless Vauxhall housing ;)

You are welcome. You need to put that file somewhere on a cloud ;)

Yeah, we did :) I had to disconnect though as my important stuff stopped getting backed up due to the size of the SM data pool. The cloud owner is now missing, presumed missing.
