What is the cca mate? That's the cold cracking amp. This is very important.
Im pretty sure you need a min of 700cca and don't think that the varta blue is good enough...
Have a look at The Exide 067TE that might be a better match up...

The CCA for the Fiamm that I've just removed is 680A.
Looking at the Exide now, thanks.

Always better to go slightly higher but if they list that as the correct part for your car then 680 is fine

I have used Bosch for a few years and found them excellent with good warranty. So long as the battery fits the available space and offers good cold crank, with a charge rate the same or slightly higher than OE, all should be well. Maserati don't make batteries, so you don't buy OE at silly money.

I can confirm the "Bosch S5008 / 096 Silver Plus" fits and functions. It has 2 vents for the excess gases so some additional tubing and connectors required (and a little PTFE tape), costing an extra £6 from the local B&Q. Although I've been told about a local scrap merchant that will buy the old battery for around £7.

Parking sensor its the same as a BMW PDC Parking Sensor E39, E46, E53 & E85.

Maserati wanted £80 plus VAT for one.

Matt, did you find a source for these? Just had a listen to mine and clearly the near side one is not pulling its weight, which would (I hope) account for the non-function of the reversing system as a whole.

Thing is, ebay is not being hugely helpful:

The ones offered either have the flat section on the sensor plate, like ours and this:

*OR*
they have the angled connector

http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/BMW-PDC-P...2?pt=UK_In_Car_Technology&hash=item2a28472f3e

but with a round sensor plate.

Any thoughts?

Cheers

Oh, and does anyone know how hard they are to get to? I can't tell from the Eurospares diagram if it's simply a matter of a couple of bolts, or a total and utter pig?

Cheers

Cat, it's a bumper off job I believe, so a pig. Once off it's easy.

I don't know what mine looked like as I did not fit it nor see it, but I recon it was probably the first one as it looked identical.

I would take the bumper off and see if there is space for the different connector, maybe swap it with another to get clearance.
