Decided it was time to replace my daily runabout with something reliable, practical and cheap to run alongside the Aston. But then I got sidetracked.....

It's a lovely car and been really well looked after...all receipts since new etc.

Great to be back in an Italian car again!

Love it - scrabbles around a bit compared to the Aston, but it's fantastic...I grinned all the way home with it on Saturday! They look so much better in the flesh than they manage to in photos too.

Agree with the in the flesh bit Nige.....Toomanyhorses had a stunning pearl white one...Looked lovely..

I don't doubt it for a second but it's only a six. IMO, a V8 sounds better than a V6 in the same way a V6 sounds better than a V4. I was just saying that, IMO, it is a bold statement saying that it is the best engine ever made. I can think of at least half a dozen that would beat the Alfa V6 hands down in sound and performance.

It sounds pretty quiet compared to the Vantage!

It's ironic that, so far, I have only had 3 people complain to me that my car is too loud and raucous, and they all drive Astons, 2 drop tops and one coupe. Bearing in mind Astons have exhausts that are designed for the tone and quantity of noise they make, I take it as a compliment that they take umbrage with the fact I can out-shout them. And I haven't finished modifying it yet!

The V8 does sound better but you can work the 6 harder whereas the 8 is just power, power, power.

Had a 3.2.GTV sublime car (except the brakes forever warping)

TBH Matt, when playing out I doubt I could work a V6 any harder than I work my spyder.

Got to say My M3 CSL's straight six sounded better than the Alfa V6...Tso very di.fferent sounds though

Absolutely; beauty is in the ear of the beholder! Incidentally, an M3 CSL with a sports pipe was one of the half dozen I was thinking of.
