I'm not going to turn into the alcohol police but it's been about 8 days since I had any at all and I feel great
I'd get about 5 hours sleep a night interrupted by 2 trips to the bathroom but for the last 5 days it's been 7-8 hours and 1 trip or none

I've lost 6lbs in weight and really feel like I've made a proper start

I was 60 yesterday , gifts were a box of mixed German lager , a bottle of champagne and a bottle of xo cognac :D

Might have a jumble sale
Belated congrats!

Good stuff. I've got 150 miles challenge this month. Made it last month, but getting 10 miles in 4 times a week takes some time. At least at my speed :D

C

You should do that no problem.

I always find rather than just doing a fixed distance, if when you get to that distance you feel ok, just keep going.

Helps that I have a TV set up for when I'm riding though. Enabled me to get most of the way through Donnie Brasco yesterday. (2 hours).

Yeah, I can get that. I like to get it done in the morning, though. Bred of a deep dislike of having to exercise (left over from being the fat bloke). I'm quite keen on having exercised though.

When I was running, though, I often would take a longer route if I was having a good day.

If it's first thing, time is a bit limited by this work thing ;)

I often 'trick' myself into running further. I find if go out saying I am only going to do 3 miles but then, if I am feeling good, turn left instead of heading home, I can run plenty more. But if start thinking I am going to run 5 miles (or more) it is a real slog!

This. Sadly I don't think I could make 1 mile before bits fell off now :(

It's amazing how much work gets in the way of doing good stuff isn't it?

Weighed in under 74kg for the last 2 days (73.6 and 73.9 today) much to my surprise as I feel like a slob at the moment mostly due to spending so much time in the same room

Had last Friday off so I hit the local woods behind my house on the MTB it starting raining really hard so instead of doing the usual big XC loop I enjoy I did 10km in hill trials near home and came back. Went out on Saturday did a further 20km (see OS maps tracker info)

Had a PT session today focussing on upper using the bench. Tomorrow and Saturday I plan to cycle another 40km - I might go out on Sunday too see if I can get over 50km - something to do right?!

My bike needs new tyres it's not coping with all the mud at the moment with 8 year old maxxis icons... I fell off for the first time in 20 years, it was at slow speed and I caught myself before hitting the mud but still.

Diet has been decent we have majority cut down on cheap take away food instead we order in from our favourite restaurant once a week as a treat to look forward to. For lunches we have a healthy salad with no bread or a raw cacao smoothie. Still not eating breakfasts I find intermittent fasting works very well with my body so lunch and dinner only

I train with my PT fasted, for bike rides I tend to take lunch or eat beforehand due to the length of the session

Not been having as many long evening walks due to the cold and work has been a little more busy (which can only be a good thing)

Good stuff FIFTY. Consistency is the key, and what I struggle with!

C

Yes for sure. To be honest I am not the most disciplined person, far from it... But I do get into habits quite easily (good and bad) so it's a matter of training your perspective

Out of interest, what do you struggle with? Sometimes I find it easy to be quite inactive especially working from home for nearly 7 years it's easy to go from office chair to car seat back to office chair then onto sofa and eventually bed

18km in around 1hr30mins in the freezing cold... Basically traded mud for ice, it was bitter though. I had full thermals on including gloves but my lid is more suited to summer so my head got really cold, might wear my ski helmet tomorrow instead

No idea how people go for daily runs in the snow.
