Ocado have Beronia reserva on sale £11.99 a bottle plus 25% off your first shop (how many email & cards you got?)..

Buy eight bottles it works out at £8.145 a bottle, which is frankly ridiculous..

no offense intended, but I’m happy with my choice!

Genuinely never had a bad MASI wine, they’re superb IMO..

A (Italian) friend of mine gets invited to their investment days (He’s never actually invested a penny lol).. I can’t imagine how bloody marvellous the (complementary!) food and wine must be, especially sat there..

yea - but remember Zerohedge exist to predict the end of the world.....something they have for wrong for some time! Wine is not an investment - but to drink and there won’t be a problem

I can’t agree with that entirely. For starters there is no capital gains tax on the return.

I’m tempted by the idea of investing in wine - it strikes me as a win win... if it goes up in value, then you sell some... or it doesn’t then you can drink it...

does anyone on here do it?

Try the wine fair in Lille. It takes place every November in a huge conference centre in the centre of Lille and brings together over 600 french wine producers in one place. They have rows and rows of white wine, red wine Champagne, Cognac and Armagnac stalls where you can taste what the producers have to offer. It is so cheap compared with UK prices and you can buy as much as you can transport back home ( within reason), although this may change with Brexit now with us. But it's a great wine tasting weekend. Entry ticket is €20 but once you've been you will be sent complimentary tickets every year thereafter. We stayed at a fantastic hotel ( L'Hermitage Gantois) which is just 8 mins walk from the conference centre. Check it out ..you won't be disappointed!! One hours drive from Calais and the Channel Tunnel so dead easy to get to.

Been doing it for the past 20 years. Buy young, the best vintage and a great Chateau or Domaine and buy it In Bond. Sit on it for 5-10 years. Wine is a long term investment.
An inexpensive wine will never increase in value. You have to buy the best. Let me put it this way:
If you bought a Skoda in the late 80s it would be worth very little to nothing now. If you’d bought an F40 on the other hand..

Tonight’s offering:

- Chablis Pierrelee made by La Chablisienne, a coop of around 300 Chablis vine growers. Pretty decent stuff.

- Les Allees de Cantemerle 2010. Second wine of Chateau Cantemerle in Haut-Medoc. Great vintage and should be drinking well now.65926

A cheeky number from Cadillac, Cote de Bordeaux this evening. Chateau Carignan produces a lovely soft velvety merlot dominated red. 70% merlot, 20% cab-sauv and 10% cabernet franc.
A steal at £11 for the tremendous 2015 vintage.

The downside unfortunately is you’re in Lille..

Strange one, but love that green on the wall. Any info at all, assuming they are tiles. Your house looks mega, well done indeed
It’s actually faux leather wallpaper made in France. I needed some wallpaper that can be wiped down in the cigar room. Comes in several colours. Mine is actually blue’ish, see photos below.

Here’s a link to a UK supplier: https://www.beut.co.uk/elitis-anguille-wallpaper.html
You can buy it at almost half the price in Holland though, where I bought mine.
